Do you guys think Omaha is popular enough now to mix in with the NLH games for Season VII of the Gauntlet? If we do it, I was thinking 8 of the 24 games to choose from would be Omaha with each player still allowed a max of 12 games to play. And if so, which Omaha format would you like?
Please vote accordingly and let me know what you think. If voting YES, vote only if you will be playing in the Omaha games.
FYI, the buy-in for each game this season will be $10+$1.
Also, vote here on the Tournament Of Champions game:

Would it make more sense to add the Omaha games rather than replace NLH games? So if we have 8 Omaha games, there would be 32 total games to choose from (24 NLH + 8 Omaha)...?
I'm just concerned about consistent attendance for every game throughout the season. |

I'm going to guess the omaha games get not attendance. Unless the regs who don't really care about the standings decide to play. Just my speculation.
NL omaha is dumb. Limit isn't fun so I think it has to be PL. Omaha H/L is played in tourney's more than Hi, maybe someone else knows why. I'd play either H/L or Hi PL.
FWIW, If the format was going to stay the same I wasn't going to play at all this season. |

That's not a bad suggestion either -- 20 NLH + 8 Omaha, maximum choice of 12 from those games.
Main thing I need to know is how many Omaha players we have that will play in these games. High and consistent attendance for every game is the top priority. |

oops. I voted for H/L because I don't like spenda.
you could be crazy and do 4 hi and 4 H/L. But based on results it looks like it's going to be status quo, which is fine with me. |

| For sure I wouldn't be able to play this season if 8 of the existing 24 games are Omaha. I would avoid playing Omaha games because I am terrible at that game, so I either vote 'no' for Omaha or say it's okay if they're added on to the existing NLHE games. |

| 6 max nlhe would be sooo good and I bet they'd get a good turnout. (I am kinda biased though) I would play some pl omaha even though I'd be a huge donk. I do eventually want to be good at it anyway. |

Does Stars even do 6-max MTTs? I don't think I've seen that format.
Regardless, I am unable to set up 6-max private tourneys, as that is not an option in the tournament configuration. I can set up Heads-Up tourneys, though. Would there be interest for some NLH Heads-Up league games? |

| I am not that good at Omaha, but I think that in order to have a well rounded league, you have to mix it up. The league would be better for it. I voted PLO, 'cause H/L confuses me. |

I really want to add Omaha to our league. I voted for and would totally play PLO8, as I've been playing that in home games and am liking it a lot.
There seems to be enough interest to get at least 1 full table in the Omaha games. If you Omaha guys could get other Omaha players to get excited about the Gauntlet and get them to this poll, I think I may go ahead and add Omaha to our league... maybe a total of 32 games.
Those of you that have voted for PLO so far, will you not play PLO8 (Hi/Lo)?
And 6-max NLH seems to be very popular. Maybe I'll do all three this season... Full NLH, 6-max NLH, and PLO8. |

I voted no.
Sadly I wouldn't play in that many of the Omaha events. I would like to play in a couple though. If you included fewer throughout the season, you would probably get more participation in the Omaha events you do have. Throw in like 2-3 extra PLO8 events on top of the holdem tourneys.
P.S. I vote for PLO8, if you throw a couple Omaha events into the mix. |

I voted no, but really only because I don't think the attendance will be high enough. Maybe just 4 games of PLO would be cool, and a nice change.
I would probably play one or two for fun, but from the point of view of trying to actually win the trophy, you need to play games with a good attendance, and I don't know that enough ppl will play the PLO games. |

PLO8 would be fun. but, so would an addition of some 6max NL games, a FLHE game and some Stud Hi/Lo, too.
not to get carried away, but lets start catering this "league" to a well-rounded game...towards HORSE, but still allowing you to choose your games. only the overall winner will have to play in some other than NL to gain the necessary points to win that kick ass trophy. |

PLO8 Xianti
and yes, chopper's is a great idea
mixing NLHE (FR & 6-MAX), FLHE, PLO, PLO8, STUD, STUD8 (not sure about RAZZ though) would make for a more wellrounded and deserving champion, not just a random luckbox donk
qualifiers would have to play a HU match for 1st, 2nd etc; best of 3/5/7
X, on an (not entirely) unrelated note, can you fix an FTR HU CHAMPIONSHIP? Like the FTR DUEL OF FIRE or something?
Just a suggestion |

I don't think all those formats are popular enough for consistently full tables. This season, I'll try adding a few Omaha games and some heads-up NLH games (these will be in addition to the usual 24 NLH games) for those that want to play them. 6-max NLH is definitely popular enough to mix in to the 24 NLH games. So.. as a trial for future seasons of more mixed games, this is what I'm thinking for this season:
32 games to choose from, for a maximum of 16 games played:
16 full NLH
8 6-max NLH
4 HU NLH
4 PLO8
What do you guys think of this?
And I like the idea of a final championship round of heads-up matches for the season title. Logistically, we need more time pre-season to prepare, as the leaderboard and points programming will need to be modified. I'll definitely consider this for next season. |

The post-season TOC (which shall now be called The FyrFytr Tournament Of Champions) can be a heads-up tourney. That could be fun. |

btw, in order to stay on top of which upcoming games are which format, I strongly suggest that you all sign up for the Gauntlet game reminders usergroup:
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/forum/groupcp.php?g=15844
Without these email reminders (to be sent the day before or day of each game) you won't know when your favorite format is coming up... unless you happen to look at the FTR Calendar frequently. |

Xianti, YOU F***ING RULE! I think the proposed setup would be great.
The only thing I'll mention is HU matches will tend to be more boring b/c the chat won't be lit up with 9 people like "traditional" Gauntlet tables. This could take some of the fun & socialization out of the gauntlet. I'm sure the play is fun, but the social aspect of the Gauntlet is best when everyone is chatting, jeering, zinging, etc. |
