Deep in the 50-50. I'm short-stacked in the SB with about 28k. Blinds are 1500/3000 - 300. BB has an average stack of 72k. 70/1500ish left, chip leaders are on about 200k. I haven't been at this table long so no reads on BB except I haven't seen him being reckless in the orbit since I arrived.
It's folded to me - What range should I be pushing here? |

| I push just about anything other than unsuited crap here. Granted, if you have a lot of action in front your stack can probably withstand one more orbit and trip through the blinds, but taking down the blinds once will give you a bit more breathing room. Also if you do get called, doubling up this orbit will be better than doubling up next orbit. Even so, I wouldn't be passing on much with only one person to get through to take down the blinds. Its tempting to wait for something that looks good, but its really +EV to push a very wide range SB vs BB unless you know that the BB is calling very wide himself. With your 28K, he's going to have to be calling off 1/3 of his stack, and most people will not be calling too wide here. |

| Shove any two unless he's a good player or unless you think he's getting sick of your pushes. In that case fold the bottom 30% of your range or so. |

That's pretty much what I thought. I just wanted a sanity check cos last night I was questioning my decision to push 42o, after he called and I lost to his TT. I reckon 70%+ of the time he is folding though, so just my bad luck on this occassion. |

I think that might be a little too loose. You aren't that short and I would maybe shove top 60%. |

You made the right play. If he only calls 30% then pushing is worth nearly 2/3 of a BB, way too big of an edge to pass up. Good players understand they have to call you with J7s and then pushing is bad but most players just won't do it.
Calling range: 22+,A2s+,K5s+,Q8s+,JTs,A2o+,K8o+,QJo (29.7%)
Equity: 29.8%
70.3% +7200, 29.7% (70.2% -28000, 29.8% +30100) = +1900 chips |
