Finally, another of those "operation" or "blog" things, just what we all wanted, right?

Short summary: Started playing shorthanded in July this year, 100NL. (After fooling around for like 2 years with full ring, MTT's, SnGs, etc etc). Moved on up to 200NL, 400NL etc and now in December tried some 600NL and ran uber hot. made like $16k in a week (!) and then obv ran uber bad to lose 6-7k of it. Most was bad lucky, really. Simply didn't hit anything, but when I did, I got no action. That kind of running bad. Still made a 4.5ptBB/100 or so, but since my confidence is down (obv some bad play was in there too) and I had to cashout a lot, 5k extra in December, to buy furniture and pay some double rents etc while moving in to a new a apartment, I'll just drop back to 400NL for a while.

THE PLAN:
I have not much to do at all until this autumn, but to play poker. I'll take the chance because I can. Probably school time then, if I just can figure out what I want to do. Anyway, poker+gym (I am in the worst shape ever) is the plan the following months. So;

* Play as much as I can. 40k hands in Jan at least.
* Cashout 3k / month
* Move up when comfortable
* $$$$$

I made ALMOST 10k in December, but cashed out a lot etc so I only increased my bankroll with 2-3k since Nov. I now have exactly $22044 to play with, and 55 buyins for 400NL should be enough. I want to be back at 600NL with confidence soon, my plan is @ 40 buyins, so a few more k. We'll se how it goes. This will be my post results and thoughts thread, since I think that could be healthy for me. This is just some kind of first draft.

I'm off for a three day drunken fiesta over New Years, so hang tight. Back to the tables the 2nd Jan 2007 in other words. Until then, HAPPY NEW YEAR! (make sure to get drunk and have a lot of good stories when I come back)

Good Luck! I've been thinking of doing one of these blog things myself. I think it would be healthy for me, but I just don't have the time atm. Oh well, maybe later.

Good luck, Sandstorm. These operation threads - of which Irisheyes' is the daddy - are just about my favourite things on FTR. Looking forward to keeping up to speed with your success!

Weeeell, let's gogogogo. Back after three drunk days, it's 2007 and everything. Only played 900-1000 hands or so today, but I'm a bit tired after the weekend. Made $2k anyway, so good times.

Sigh, played some 1k hands yesterday (only) and got pwned. Coolered, bad calls, everything. Put myself down $400 for December, so no disaster but still.

I need some dicipline. Played 1k hands this morning and will play another session tonight. 2k hands / day should not be a problem, really?

Anyway today was good so Dec this far:
4500 hands (weak)
+$1000

Wow... that is the best situation I have ever seen. Flopped straight flush vs 2 other flopped flushes? Wow. What are the chances? 10 Spades were outed by the end of this hand. Wowza.

Just out of interest do you call the allin with the J high there as BB?

Also how many tables do you play?

I don't know actually. Since I didn't register the 6 at first I at least started to consider folding. (But the thought didn't get far) Wink
I'd have a hard time folding with the J, could be up against overpairs, sets, twopairs, , straight, ace draw, whatever. Wouldn't be surprised if I was up against a flush though, but folding? Nah.

6-tabling Party atm.

Back to 600NL! Took a "shot" today with 40+ buyins and found some really nice tables and made a few dollars. Feels good. This hand was kinda odd, the push guy is a total fish, like 40/27/2 or something like that. Your line? Gambool?

I'd shove too here pretty easily. I don't think we're ever dominated here, there is tons of dead money already and if he is ever pushing an unpaired hand we're doing very well against his range. Plus it might set him on tilt, where as if you lose the hand you'll stay ice cold. Smile

T3 FTW!

This should be a good thread. I was reminded about all the poker operation threads in this forum by trainer in FTR chat yesterday. I'm going to be reading a lot of these a lot more now. I might eventually start my own too since I never remember to update my blog and I'm always on FTR anyway.

Keep up the good work sand, send me some money!

The good run ended and was followed up by a bad one. I FEEL like I'm playing my usual game, just that my timing is terrible (calling stations folds to my sets, my bluffs gets called etc) and I haven't not been hitting anything at all for the last few thousand hands. I'm at exactly +/-$0 for January, but I had to cash out 1k for more apartment stuff so BR = 21k

I'm sick of three things:

1) Getting two-outered on the turn or river and paying of total fish's sets with my overpair

2) The auto-min-checkraise (always when I don't have anyhing)

3) Starting every day up a few buyins then going down again, often because of 1)

January: 13500 hands (still playing too little but I'm not in the right mindset, sigh) +$100
