So, just returned from Reno and had a great time!
I played mostly at Circus Circus where I tripled a 70$ buy in at 2/4 in about 3 hours ( ran well though, caught cards like mad) . I returned that night to play a 30$ rebuy ( out of my BR, but hey, I was on vacation and had just made my entry fees at the 2/4 ..lol) Played well in that, caught some cards in the 1st hour , didnt have to rebuy, and ended 1st hour with a nice 10K stack , got down to 11-12 left, and went out on a coinflip shortstacked ( 77 in the BB, 1 limper, SB bigstacked, completes- I push, SB calls- turns over 10 J, hits 10 on flop- end of story) So my whole investment was 50$ ( 20$ add on at the end of the 1st hour + 30$ entrance)- no big deal, I'm still up 80$.
Next day, I played a little 1 hour "shootout" tourney also at Circus Circus in the morning. 17$ buy in ( 3$ add on which the dealers keep?) 27 players, and the thing is done in 1 hour- Blinds start at 50-100, go up every 15 min. Whoever has the top 3 stacks at the end of the hour wins (50% 30% 20%) Kind of a 3 table turbo SnG......
Anyways, I ended up taking 2nd place, which was cool- considering I had a short stack at the final table. Luckily there a few microstacks also, so 3-4 hands into the last blind level- all the micros busted out, and there are 4 left. The short stack to my right gets into it with the Big Stack, and there I am in the money. couple hand later, the two big stacks clash ( I love it!) and I am heads up with 5 min to go.There was no chance for me to take 1st though, big stack was way too big for me to catch up in 5 min. and he wasnt dumb- he just folded every hand, knowing I couldnt catch him. Hey, 2nd place was alright though, considering
Sweet, now I have paid for me and fiance's expenses for the two days ( Had a nice Sushi dinner, and bought her a haircut/style, with poker winnings-
supporting future poker related arguments..lol) . I played a little while while she has having her salon session at Atlantis. Sat down at a 1/2 NL table in the Atlantis Poker Room, but was card dead for an hour, and with lots of loose, wild action, I was waiting for a hand to play- never came, cashed out 90 of my 100 buy in, and that was all the poker I played.
All- in -all a good experience. If I make it back to Reno, I would like to try some of the other poker rooms. We went to Peppermill for dinner the last night, and their poker room looked really cool- lots of tables, lots of choices of stakes apparently (2/4 , 3/6. 1/2 NL, some Omaha I think) . Also, the room in El Dorado looked OK.. maybe next time. But Circus Circus was cool- fairly small, but with decent tourneys, and lots of tourist fishies. I recommend it!

| Awesome. I've been to Las Vegas a few times myself, maybe I'll check out Reno sometime. |
