I have a question about how much I can earn just through Rakeback alone. How much Rakeback can be earned by a full timer? Say 50K/75K hands a month, at $100NL. What is a low end earnings/month of playing a significant amount of hands. I'm looking to get about $1200 to $1500 a month just in rake. As an example, I've played 50K hands and have $550 In Rakeback. I played about 10K or 11K of those at a site without Rakeback as well. Most of my hands this month have been at $50NL but 10K of those were at $25NL. The math would not work out just by multiplying because of the sheer number of raked hands and the size of the pots when hands don't go to showdown.

How much Rakeback is average for a $100NL player playing X amount of hands at about 30% on most sites. Is $1200 unreasonable? It doesn't feel like it. What about stats, If I play Nittier than some, will that effect it a little or a lot.

I tend to collate my data on Crypto for things like how many MPPs per hand at different stakes and, of course, how much Rakeback.

Last time I checked on Crypto I was getting, per hand, approximately $0.05 in MGR at $50NL (these are all 6-max), $0.07 at $100NL and $0.12 at $200NL (the last is over a really small sample).

So you then have to put that through a hands played * mgr/hand * RB%

So with a typical Crypto rate of 32% you're looking at $230-odd in Rakeback per 10k hands of $100NL. So you'd need to be putting in 60k hands there to get your target.

At $200NL it looks like $400 per 10k hands, which means just 30k hands and you're close to your goal.

Obviously at 6-max your stats affect the table to a significant degree (I VPIP from the blinds far too often, which probably helps boost the number of raked hands too), but really its the looseness of opponents which helps get the rakes tumbling in.

if its any help im averaging about $60 of rake per 1000 hands so far playing a 20/16/4 game.

even if you say youre getting $15 or RB per 1k hands, thats $750 for 50k hands and $1125 for 75k hands. Not too bad.

How many hours/month are you playing to put in that many hands? Its taken my 3 months to put in 65k hands.

That's my March numbers, and nowhere near what I plan to do for April. I'm shooting for 75K hands in April.

I've played 10.xk the last three months so that's what I'm assuming! - I might try playing a few more if I can clear $400 of Crypto Bonus in the process, though that does mean staying at $100, gulp...

Btw, Anosmic, I think your figures are wrong. I cleared more than that last month and I only played maybe 3k of my 10k hands at $100. Have you divided by two at some point maybe?

TJ and I are both planning on playing 30K+ hands the first 15 days of the month.

Sadly, he won't prop bet me. Wait, I mean luckily.

I can't. One site has no PT support. So counting my hands will be pretty tough. Let me see if there is a way to tell how many hads are played. You may need to stop single tabling limit bots and start playing some serious hands.

These are approx but i think they are right. Not based on contributed rb terms but hands dealt.

30% rb at 100nl = $2 per hr per table.
30% rb at 50nl = $1 per hr per table

so at 100NL you're only making $20 per 1k hands?

That doesn't make sense to me. But hell, I haven't played 100 yet.

I probably hate myself for asking that and I'm not even on my home PC but how do you check on PT how much rake you paid per site?

Is the filter something like "where rake was >0.25" and "where flop seen"? Anyway, will try it tonight when I get home.

theres a "total rake" column on the right hand side of the main stat area under the general tab. If you want to see it by site then just filter by site.

That seems almost spot on to me.

Once you have played the stakes a bit you can do some Rakeback calcs using PT.

The Game Notes window is your friend here:

Here's my all my $100NL 6-max games on Crypto.
There are 26,072 games I've clicked the "get all" button.

Note here we have nice TRH (Total Raked Hand) info, which was useful on InterPoker when it was raked hands which counted for bonuses.
The one we're interested in now is MGR which is your share of the rake (i.e. rake/players).
If you divide MGR/hands here we get 1868/26,072 = 0.07164
multiply this by the number of hands you want to test for, e.g. 10k and then apply your RB percent. (i.e. 0.0716*10k=716 * 0.30 = $215).

So that's $215 per 10k hands. I've found that even over such a sample it's reasonable for predicting RB (so after 5k hands my figures were about the same).

Now it varies.
Think about it: more flops = more rb.
Very fishy tables are generating rake a lot more. Aggro tables with lots of 3-betting and taking down pre-flop pots are not generating rake.
If I had RB at Party I figure it'd be boosted to around $265 per 10k, but I've not got a huge sample yet.

Your own statistics will affect things too. The tighter you are the less you help push the table towards a flop.

BUT with the limited table selection at Crypto means that over 10k hands you're likely to face $215 per 10k hands.
If you need data for another site/level then get the MGR/Hand from someone else. But this will let you get a real picture of expected Rakeback.

PT compared to RB provider = within $1 over 17k hands (and provider's has referral money in... so hard to be exact).
