The situation i'm talking about is when they are still 6-7 people left and the blinds are upto 50/100 - 100/200 and the players on the table are playing weak/scared and you are in early position.

So would you raise here and if so with what hands?

I'm not talking about obvious monster hands here - just your usual stealing hands.

Depends on my stack.

I'll raise with any pair above 6s, or any two cards above 10 (suited preferred but not required) early on the bubble IF I can stand to let go to a big reraise with my stack... just in case.

randomly, I'd put in a 3BB bet and many folded - didn't matter where I played from. Mind you, these were only 5 & 10 SnG games and add, I am a newbie and I'm still learning the 'lay of the land' on the poker table.

It also dpends are your image, if you have a tight image you can steal with a lot of hands here, if you have a loose image you aren't going to get as much respect.

Also, start keeping an eye out for who over-defends there blinds and who gives them up easy. It's not worth trying to steal off someone overly aggressive, but you can of course raise your solid hands on there blinds confident of getting action.

Fortune 500 - chip stack about 2-2500.

naturaltan - I only play the £5.50 SnG's - not long started playing myself (6months).

Toasty - good point's - this made me think - when i'm in stealing mode - i'm not sure if i'm seen as TA or LA - i will steal in late-middle / late position with PP - suited connectors/gappers - 2 high cards - Axs. on the button i will raise with any cards if i believe the player's will fold.

I like to change gears in SnG's depending how the table is playing or certain players i'm up against.
