I was wondering how you guys evaluate what you see in Poker Tracker. What are the major things you look at and how large of a sample do you really need to do some studying of your play? My numbers are pretty good so far, but i've only played in 14 tournaments. I've also lost a little bit of money playing limit poker trying to get my Bonus, so my bankroll is only around $115 (bought in for 75).
ROI% 43.5%
ITM% 35%
4 1st places
1 2nd place
Obviously i'm happy with my heads up play. But what else am I looking for with Poker Tracker? Is it worth the 55$? I've maxed out all the hands I can do for the trial version. Also, is there any way I can share the information in my database with you guys? Would I have to e-mail the file or could I put it on the forum?
Thanks for any feedback, especially since I'm not even sure what i'm asking besides if Poker Tracker is worth the money. |

No, I dont think PT is worth it for SnGs. You could just keep a spreadsheet or some such and get the desired effect.
Since PT is made for analysis of hands and positions, it's just not a good fit for SnGs since these are driven by the blinds, chip stakes, and how many people are left.

Wow, thanks for the spreadsheet. It looks pretty complicated. I'll get it figured out soon though |

| Just wanted to say thanks again. I just got done adding all of my tournaments into the spreadsheet and changing around the buy-in amounts for the tournaments I play. Very nice work. |

It is a very nice spreadsheet, I think someone from 2+2 made it.
And you're welcome! |

If you just want to keep track of your ROI or ITM stats then yes, this Excel sheet should be enough. But Poker Tracker has so much more to offer. You have all your hand histories in PT .. so after some SnGs you can sit and analyse your play and those of your opponents.
You can filter all your hands so that you see only your blinds or button play, you can identify the hand you lost the most chips with and so on.
So if you really want to seriously improve your game and check your play for holes, you can't go without PT.
Everytime I start a SnG or ringgame I make a quick search in PT if I've played with some of my opponents before. If they turn up in PT I have some information on my players (starting hands, lost/won from, aggressive/loose,...) before the first hand is even dealt. You can't get that information from a Excel sheet.

It's not a tool for SnGs. It can do all that for cash games, but in tournys playing your hands right isn't really as important as just being aggressive when blinds are right, knowing how to play your stack and your opponents stack and how to play on the bubble and what not. PT doesn't help identify leaks that may come about by these factors.

| PT is ok for SnG's. If you ever decide to play ring or what not, you will already have it. Also I like to be able to save my HH's so that if I on a downward spiral, I can go back and review the histories so I can see if I playing bad or running bad. |

| Anyone have any idea of how to setup that spreadsheet for $10 and $20 SnG's? It's pretty complicated. |

| All you have to do is go to any of the tabs that have the buy-in's and pay-outs and change them accordingly. Then it will update all the other stuff automatically. |
