raging - i just saw this. did you ever find a NL live game anywhere in SD?
let me know if you did - i'm in carlsbad.
i've been in all of the local casino's websites, and didn't see anything.
any ideas what the best bet for limit is in SD? oceans11 is close to me, but i have a feeling it's a lot tight regulars.
tight low limit holdem - does it get any more exciting! |

haven't seen any no limit tables at a casino yet, viejas and sycuan do offer no limit tournaments for pretty low buy in's on friday.
As for Ocean's 11, I heard it was a great cardroom, but youre right, its full of good players. I'm still hoping I hear of a place with NL, or the existing casinos set up a NL table, not a bad idea considering the success of NL hold 'em on TV.
Viejas and Sycuan seem to be pretty popular for limit play, I heard the rake is huge though, so if you're going to play you might want to try the highest limit. Dunno about Ocean's 11 rake but if its reasonable, it might be the best option even with the better players.
I'll let you know if I hear of anything |

i'd like to try some live playing - unfortunately, when ever i get a good hand or make my draw, i start rubbing my hands together and laughing like beavis and butthead. |

classic!
if FTR has a tournement, maybe we can get Krusty as the spokesperson:
in a monotone: "I heartily endorse this product or event." |

good job raging - let me know if you check either out. i would think sycuan would be the more "easy" of the two - tourists and all.
i need to start winning a little more consistently, but would like to try some casino play.
i'll have to start practicing my look of death |

Oceans 11 is a great place play. They spread a NL game with 2 $5 blinds and a $300 max buy in. I haven't played in it yet. From watching it thou, I would wait till they get a second or 3rd table running because the main game on table 7 always has a handfull of guys who have been there for hours and have a grand or two in front of them.

They have $12 (14 with the extra cjhip BUY IT) MOnday, Friday and Sunday AM and Wed PM.
I won this Friday (we chopped the final table) - $200 (non chopped 1st is 360, 2nd is 156 - I only had a 1 chip lead, so too, the chop - everyone else was less than half of us top two)
Great tourneys, lots of good players,. your usual maniac kids, etc. A very fun experience for less than the price of a movie with lobby lunch |
