| Modell's Sporting Goods (Northeast Sporting Goods Franchise) is now selling Texas Hold'em Poker Sets. While not as bad as Hoyle Plastic Chips. These chips by a company called Cardinal are horrible. They are the suited style chips, and the printing is definitely under par. It comes with 200 chips, a deck of cards, and instructions on how to play "like the pro's". I tell you. I can smell the fish a mile away now. Especially now that alot of the local watering holes are having weekly poker tourneys. |

This is completely off-topic, but I can't stand Late Night Poker. The announcers are so damn irritating, and it seems like they just picked 5 people off the street to play in the back room of some bar.
The announcers on Fox Sports aren't that much better.
For production values, the WSOP is obviously on top, with the WPT being next. Everything else is so far behind these two. |

Why in the world are they still using glass tables with cameras below the table? "Lipstick" cameras are so cheap nowadays, anybody could do it WPT-style! |

| Yeah, one night I stayed up late just to check Late Night out. Now I wish there was a way to get back some of the sleep I lost out on. And Celebrity Poker should be taken off the air waves. It really does the game an injustice. Cannot wait for the 2004 WSOP to start showing on ESPN. |

Yeah, next thing ya know, you'll see free money Poker Chips for sale on ebay.
Oh, I've already seen them.
Now, back to playing the NLHE scratch off lotto tickets...
You're so money Mikey |

The glass tables actually pre-date the lipstick cameras, and LNP was the first to show hole cards. I'm sure LNP is just proud that they invented it so they are hesitant to give in to WPT taking their idea and making it better.
I actually like Late Night Poker. It still has good players, and good poker. But people are right, the production values are nowhere near that of WPT, and the announcers aren't that great either. They narrate, they don't announce. |

I know. LNP has been doing it long before WPT. But that's my point exactly. The camera-under-glass-table is old tech and counters the felt table tradition of casinos. The lipstick cameras are a much better and higher-tech idea. Late Night Poker needs to upgrade. |
