Nice pot, you had to dodge 19 cards on the river, 21 cards to actually win as any Jack (excluding the Jack of Diamonds Jack of Clubs) would have created a split pot, if someone was in with a Club flush draw (pretend you have hearts) it would have been 27 now that's a scary thought, you would be approaching reverse implied odds.

Sorry to ramble, thought you played it well btw. Interesting hand for sure, I'm going to run it through twodimes and see what we get Smile

Interesting hand, and very interesting point there, Toasty. Strange that you could have the nuts at the turn and still possibly have 27 cards that could beat you on the river, if Golfer didn't have clubs and another guy had a club flush draw.

I wouldn't dream of folding when I had the nuts on the turn like that. There's only a 14% chance that a specific flush draw would hit, and you couldn't know the other guy had a set either. If he had two pair, he'd only have 4 outs, instead of 10 (board pair or the 4th K).

Here, I checked out your odds, if you were interested.

After the flop:

Cards %win %lose %tie Pot equity Odds
Qc Jc 47.29 51.61 1.11 47.80% 0.92:1
Ks Kh 46.29 53.71 0.00 46.30% 0.86:1
Qd 5d 5.32 93.58 1.11 5.90% 0.06:1

After the turn:

Cards %win %lose %tie Pot equity Odds
Qc Jc 54.76 40.48 4.76 57.10% 1.33:1
Ks Kh 23.81 76.19 0.00 23.80% 0.31:1
Qd 5d 16.67 78.57 4.76 19.00% 0.23:1

Nice, you were actually the favorite on the flop. Gotta love when you have a flush draw and an open ended straight draw. Especially when someone you don't like hits his set when you complete your straight Smile

I don't care if the other person has 40 outs. You cannot fold the nuts.

You did the right thing. Don't let anyone tell you different.

You cannot fold them in a house, you cannot fold them with a mouse. You cannot fold the nuts I say, you cannot, cannot or you're gay. (you think you can do better, you rhyme it!)

There is only one case where you can fold the nuts. If the pot is small, and you're looking like you're up against a likely freeroll.

For example: you have

King of Clubs Ten of Clubs

flop is:
Ace of Diamonds Jack of Clubs Ten of Spades

checked around.

turn is:
Queen of Diamonds

If a player pushes all-in and the pot is small, you should fold.
