I've started today exactly where I left off:
http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=7744&highlight=#7744
It's soul destroying, I'm so close to going postal, I'm having a break and taking another shot later, if I keep getting the same shit I'm cashing out and not playing again until I forget why I quit in the first place.
KK 4 times today only won 1 of them and that was the blind money, I'm not going to go into all the bad beats i've had today, suffice to say out of all the players i've played today, only a handful have a flops seen % under 35%. The people killing me are all >>50% I know this is supposed to be a great thing but after a week of getting killed its becoming a joke.
What's the point playing if even when you are playing well you still lose money to idiots who get lucky (I know there not winning players, but they all seem to be catching their luck against me )
well sorry for the rant, I'll let you all know what happens later. |

That sucks, man.
Maybe, at least for your peace of mind, you can try mixing it up? Try playing some sit and goes, multitable tournies, or heads up games?
I've found heads up tournies can be pretty damn profitable if you find a poor heads up player that doesn't know when to stop playing with you. |

panic over, just killed it for 14BBs an hour over 4 hours
I just hope I don't hit a swing like that again, I know its inevitable but man this was the nastiest swing i've seen, lasted three days and I play long sessions.
I worked it out to a 2 week loseing streak if I played in a B&M casino for 40 hours a week hehe, too many thoughts . . . |

I just took a horrible swing tonight. About -$120.
Three way all-in. Flop is Jack High. I got QJ, next guy has JT, last guy has a flush draw. Turn is a Ten.
Flush over flush TWICE. Once with Kxs, both with 3 on the board.
I had AA underbetting their hand with a gutshot + flush draw. Plenty of chips left on the river, miss miss.
Same with KK, had a straight and flush draw. Miss, miss again.
I call an $6 QJ desperation all-in with my AQo. Fish behind me calls to with 87o. Hits a seven on the flop and I have to fold.
Caught a set of 4s. Minimum bet with 2 callers, I raise to $2, everyone folds.
...and so on.
Doubled up a couple times on good stuff, but the carnage kept comming... |

Now take that number multiply it by 5 and you arrive at Toasty's magic downswing number . . .
I think that is one of the worst things about multi tabling, you can double/ triple your win rate and double / triple your losses. Also multi tabling degrades your skill slightly. I still think playing 2 tables + though is a benefit, you can clock up double the experiance. Which enables you to act correctly in odd situations as you have seen them more times before.
Hope your downswing ends soon Fnord and "may the flop be with you" |

| Just ended. I found the biggest fish I've *EVER* seen. ...and that's saying a lot. Already hit him up for nearly $50. I had him heads up for a while too... |

I had one of those a while ago, too bad I found mine in a $10 NL room at Paradise. He was almost telling me what hands he had. If I had a piece of the flop at all, I could take money from him.
There were 3 people in this room, and he kept raising everything. I was getting ready to leave and I caught on to his game. He would raise $.40 with nothing, $.80 with a peice of the flop and $1 with a good hand. It never changed. He would also call anything, with anything.
Over about a half an hour I took $15-$20 from him. (which is a lot when the max buy in is $10)
I was feeling good at the end of that session. |
