Top 50 go on to compete for a trip to Paris & a seat in the WPT event there.

I'm currently 42 out of 97. Woo!

Problem is that I am suddenly getting the crappiest cards out there. Ugh! the last 30 minutes or so I've gotten 62 52 83

Maybe I'm just part of Rippy's dream? Shocked

And then I get AK in the big blind, raise all-in and am up against JJ...a set flops and I'm out in 89th just like that.

Played very well, just got too impatient with my big cards there at the end. Alas, there will be other tourneys.

That is so true, lost a SNG with AK vs. 56o tonight in 4th place after some guy with 80 chips battled all the way back because no one would call his automatic all-ins!

Looking back, this was a horrendous play on my part. A mistake to learn from, for sure.

I was in the BB with AKo. This was the first decent hand I'd had in about 4 orbits.
Stack T52000.
Blinds 3000/6000.
Ante 150.

A short stack T12000 had gone all-in in EP and was called by MP T78000. Instead of folding, letting MP take EP out, and getting that much closer to the money, I came over the top of both of them, thinking it would push MP off his hand and I could take the pot. But MP had me covered so he called with JJ. EP had Q6s. Flop came rag-rag-J, turn: rag river: rag. And knocked both of us out in one fell swoop.

Other than that I played very well, I think. Got maximum value for my hands (doubled through twice with KK). Made some great reads. Never called (except at the end) with an inferior hand (i.e. folding hands like KQo from the SB in a raised pot w/callers). Didn't get outplayed on any hand. I was really aggressive when I needed to be, and patient for the most part when I had to be, as well. All-in-all I think I'm getting better and better.

Best play of the night...was the next orbit after the hand I describe below. T22000 or so, blinds 250/500 (or 500/1000). Dealt KK in UTG+2. UTG+1 (T17000) called the BB and I raised to 4x the BB. Folded back around to UTG+1 who called. Flop came Q88. UTG checks and I bet 2000 and he called (I put him on a Q...he'd have come back over the top of me with an 8). Turn was a rag and I bet 3000. At this point I wanted to get him pot committed so he'd have to call at the river. River was a rag and I bet 8000 (his stack was about 7900 at that point). He thought for a long time and then called; he had 44.

Only really had one other bad play but got lucky and sucked out. I called (unraised pot) with A7o in the SB, flop came AK7 with 2 clubs (I had none). I mistakenly slow-played a bit, underbet the pot, and got 2 callers (I think they both had me covered). A club came on the turn and I pushed all-in (bad move again), both players called. Oops. The river came a 7 giving me a boat and a nice suck-out against 2 obvious flushes. One guy showed, the other didn't.

The only thing I didn't like about this tourney was that I got moved quite a bit. Seemed like after awhile, every orbit I was being moved to a new table. In PP's multies and the multies on PS, I stay at the same table for several orbits at least. But I'll be back in it either tonight or tomorrow, depending on whether I go to my live game tonight.
