I'm sittin at a table and this kid goes all in against 74..The kid with 7,4 catches a straight on the river, so I laugh thinking about Ripptyde's favorite hand. Some kid insults the play of Andy and his 7,4 play. I laugh, and say "I like that hand, 7-4"..Then Andy asks if I'm FTR and I say yeah..FUDGE 'EMs, I end my story there..i lost my tourney in some bs flaring skittles with a pair of kings and some kid tripping up 7's on the fuggin river...oh yeah, andy knocks me out with 2,8 and i have AQ and he catches a full house..pretty much sums up my thumpin mularkey horrible loss night. FUN

Finally found this thread...
Thanks for posting the story about the Rippy, though I am surprised you neglected to mention your excellent comeback after being crippled early on (thanks to that flopped straight losing to a runner-runner boat)...
That being said, I am truly sorry about knocking you out -- but in my defense, it was basically an extra chip (seeing as I was BB). I was totally expecting to lose, but did get horribly lucky. |

I played .25/.50 limit a small amount but did pretty well. As of about 2 months ago, though, the NL seemed have gotten very sharky. Up until that point, it was like taking candy from a baby. People tilted easily and couldn't let go of just about any hand. I remember one hand in particular where I guy had just busted out by losing his $75 stack to another guy's garbage on the river...the very next hand I pick up AA...tilter raises 2 bucks, I make it 10, he calls. flop is 699, he bets 5, I go all in, he calls and shows pocket 2s and I take his $50.
It just seemed like tons of people realized how soft the game was and decided to take advantage of it... |
