Hey I figure this is as good a time as any to stop lurking and start posting so here I go.

I've been a long time lurker since I joined back last year. FTR has contributed a tonne to my game but I've really took off in the last couple months when I started playing cash full time. I've decided to do this for my entire summer since the next best job around my area only pays 9$/hr. One of my May goals are to make 100 posts which should be enough to get my feet wet and start me off contributing back to the community that has helped my game so much.

Here are my 50NL results for May. On a bit of a heater as of late but I ended off April quite cold.
http://img501.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bragco9.jpg

Going to try 100NL for the first time today if I can at least breakeven for a little while and get my feet wet for 10k or so I should be fine. If I run/play bad I guess it'll be back to 50NL for a while. I'll keep you updated.

My first update. Okay so since I started 100NL nothing has gone right. I got set over set 3 times in my first 500 hands which was a great welcome. I don't really see the need to post beats so I won't. I moved back to 50NL last night and will continue their today. Hopefully by the end of this week I'll have grinded my roll back to 4k and will try moving up again.

I also decided that rather then make this just a summer operation I'm going to make it long term. Grinding my way up to 1kNL is my long term goal now which should make this a very long operation. I'll try to keep updates going weekly hopefully and if I don't find the time I'll definately have bi-weekly updates.

Rather then try to make money and move up I'm doing what a people are recommending me to do and I'm going to 4table 6max and really learn how to play good poker then move up.

I havn't updated in a while so here I go.

Started 4 tabling 6m. Grinded 50NL 6m for a while then I moved up to 100NL. Basically broke even their by the end of May. I only ended grinding a sad 1k at the end of the month after being at 2k at 2 points earlier in the month. I used 40k FPPs to grind the 210FPP sattys and earned about 1k. So for the entire month I earned 2k which isn't bad at all especially since I'm a student and it's more then I'd make a standard job around here.

Now June I hope to grind quite a bit more. 2nd day of June I decided to play some donkaments that night and I ended up going deep in the 15+1.50. I ended busting in 3rd when I shoved K high on a very dry flop over this guys c-bet.(Bottom pair K kicker calls they end) Earned myself a 1k bankroll boost so great start to the month. I play some more 6m and earn a couple buy-ins their. I move back to grinding 18 tables of FR but I've decided to move to 100NL. Over my first 4k hands I'm only down 1/2 a buy-in. I feel like I'm playing better then ever since I've read Fees 6m guide which I'd recommend to anyone and played some 6m and am really starting to understand poker . I just started reading Small stakes hold em which should help me understand alot of theory even though this book applies mostly to limit. I'm getting alot better at exploiting players tendencies now and feel like it's helped me pick up my game. I'm not playing like a total robot 18 tabling now like I was before and I'm trying to think my way through hands more then I ever did before. All in all I feel like my game is really starting to take off and I'm hoping not to spend alot of time @ 100NL and try to avoid another downswing like I experienced the first time.

Roll @ Start of May:1700
Roll @ End of May:3700

Well here's another update halfway through June. So yesterday I broke my ankle which really sucks but I guess it'll end up being +EV in the long run which is the best way I can see to look at it. Not telling anyone to go break their ankles to gain EV or anything Rolling Eyes . Going to be alot of poker from now until I get my cast off which I'm not really sure how long thats going to take. I was playing basketball and I landed on like a bar and my toes came back and almost touched my leg thus causing the ligaments to tear a small chip off one of the bones in my ankle. It looks like it's too small to do surgery. It's probably gonna have to heal on its own. Seeing a specialist for this on wednesday so I guess I'll know then but w/e.

Poker lately has been great. The first couple days of the month I never played much and I never played much on the weekends like usual either. The day after I made my last update I got 3rd in a donkaments for a 1k$ BR boost. That overrolled for 100NL by a quite a bit. I spent some time 18 tabling FR and I've played a couple thousand hands @ 100NL 6m and a couple hundred @ 200NL 6m. All in all I've made ~2500 in my 31k hands this month and a little over 3k including donkaments and whatever else I screwed around playing. Thats puts my roll @ ~6700 which is almost double the start of month.

Wow, running good, keep it up!

Sounds like running a bit hot at MTTs, but you'd take that Wink.

Ok so Tuesday I put in a marathon of poker playing ~8k hands 18 tabling because I wouldn't be able to play wednesday because I had to get an operation on my ankle. Yesterday(Thursday) I couldn't play either because I didn't get back until ~6pm and I had to take painkillers because my foot didn't feel too great. I didn't play last night because the painkillers made me feel kind of dopey. Ok so back to tuesday. After losing 600 on sunday and barely playing monday I made back 1200 on tuesday to put over the 7k mark. Hoping to put in some hands today cause the pain in my ankle is starting to subside a little.

I might try some 200NL soon maybe tomorrow night since it's friday and all. This depends on how I do today though.

Running 3.24ptBB/100 over 35k @ 100NL so far. Havn't got to play as much as I'd like w/ my ankle being the way it is and my girlfriend is leaving in less then a week. July and August are going to be marathons though. Especially July since I'll have my cast all month and I shouldn't have any pain at all to deal with.

Hows the ankle?
I hope there isn't ligament damage, I broke my leg last August and shredded 2 ligaments in my ankle, was in a cast for 10 weeks, and 10 months later its still sore today.

I would try $200NL if I were you, put 5 buyins to one side or something, you seem to be progressing quickly, wd

Wow sounds like you're doing well and moving up quick! Congrats. I think I used to see you a lot at the $50 and $100nl full ring tables on stars (sn is yAAwn at stars right). Didn't know you were an FTR member though. Anyway, good luck w/the ankle and keep shredding the tables!

Thanks for the responses guys.

I don't think there's any ligament damage. I'm only expected to be in a cast now for 4-6 weeks which isn't too bad so w/e. I'm going to try some 200NL 6m soon if I experience a 5 buy-in downswing I probably will take a step back. Tried a 109 last night and boy are they soft. Ended up busting 6 spots OOTM though. I'm not quite rolled so I sell 50% of myself to FTR members.

Long time no updates. Sup everyone I was going to update a couple days ago but I've been grinding these double VPPs shipppp. First things first heres my graph of June.

http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/543/junegrafui8.jpg

Thats little downswing on the end continued into this month for a combined 15buy-in swing. But w/e all you gotta do is win a donkament for 2.7k and all is good(Took down a 5.50$turbo some friend asked me to play w/ him). I'm still gonna try to stay away donkaments for the rest of the month though because cash is wayyyyyyyy more +EV. I might try the sunday mill or something later in the month if I do well.

Definately going to try some 200NL later in the month when the games get back to normal unless stars has some other crazy bonuses which might keep me at 100NL.

Also going to hit Supernova soon which is definately a nice Bonus. I'm not sure what I want to shoot for regarding the 200k+ bonuses but I guess I'll see as I near the end of the year.

Started June:$3700
Ended June:$8200

Current Roll $11.2k

Profit goal for this month:10k
# of hands: Lots(Will probably put in a full day or 2 of studying before I move to 200NL. But I'm hopefully going to get >150k hands this month especially since I already have 25k in these first 3 days.

Okay so since my last post not alot has happened. I spent week 2 of the promo playing donkaments and didn't get any big scores. Had a couple good runs but no final tables. This take me out of the groove of playing cash so now I need to get back into it.

I need 65,714 VPPs(230,000 FPPs) to start to clear my first 4,000$ Bonus. I need 28,000 VPPs to clear the Bonus so I need 93,714 VPPs to clear the Bonus by the end of the summer. 93,714 VPPs is anywhere from 200k(really good table selection or botting 24 tables) to 300k hands.
I have 43 days to pull this off. So I need anywhere from 4600hands/day to
6900hands/day. At the least I want to have this Bonus started but if I have enough time and get this Bonus started I'll definately become extra motivated to clear this before summers end.

I'm also looking to pull at least 3ptBB/100 during all this since I will be practicing good table selection and only 12-16 tabling. That should put my profit at anywhere from 12,000-18,000$ over the next 43 days. This is all very optimistic I know but I'm only going to try and push myself and by posting here and updating weekly now it should keep me motivated until I get close to the 4000$ Bonus. After 93,000VPPs I will also have 200k VPPs so I'll be able to clear the 2000$ Bonus right after so this should keep me motivated for the next 107k VPPs.

I tried to move up to 200nl. Got bitch slapped back down. I think I'm at best a b/e or slight winner although I havn't played barely any hands there. I'm going to clear 4k Bonus, pad my roll, try to study as much as I can during this grind and be up to 200nl by the middle of september. I'll be super deeply rolled by the start of september so I'll have alot of time to adjust to the games and hopefully never have to move back down again.

My LONG term goal is still to be able to beat 1kNL over a large sample size. I don't know how long it will take to achieve this but I'm hoping to be beating 400-600nlnl by the end of this year which will put me close. By this time I'll hopefully be deep enough to take shots 1kNL when the games are good and stuff.

I also cashed out 1.25k to help pay for new a laptop since my other one is on the fretz. So I'm only up ~600$ since my last post.

Roll:10,600

Goals:Grind a fuckton of hands by the end of august. Clear 4000 VPP Bonus whic sets self up for 2000VPP Bonus which will thus motivate me further. Achieve at least 3ptBB/100 from now until the end of August.

It would seem that we have very similar goals. I'm also looking to play ~16 tables at the mo, I feel like 24 tabling is more trouble than it's worth since it makes table selecting and note taking harder as well as just playing and thinking. It also allows for longer sessions since 24 tabling can be quite draining.

Maybe I'll see you at the tables tonight? btw if you talk strat at the tables again I'm going to have to chatblock you lol
