So earlier my friend called me up and asked me to toss him $5 on FTP. i'll start off by saying he is a casual player so he doesn't care about BR management, etc. I agreed and he put $3 on a 10NL table. So, I decided to sit with him with a full stack, watch him play, and take his money xD

Anyway, I flop 2 sets in 15 mins and stack my opp each time! One of them is short so I am up about 1.5 BIs. My friend logs off and I decided to 4-table 10NL to see how I do. I know it's kinda against my BR guidelines ($120) but anyway I said if I dropped below $100 I would quit.

Long story short, 45 minutes and 7 sets(!!!!) later I am up 4 buyins over the course of about 1 hr.

Everything I played I nailed and it seemed like every PP I played I would hit a set. I would have been up more except I lost a big pot with the 2nd nut straight vs. the nut straight and then the nut straight vs. the backdoor flush.

All in all, having a great run of cards and after dinner I'm gonna put in a few morehours and see where it goes.

Since I'm taking up space on the forum, I may as well ask, how beatable is the rake at FTPs 10NL games?

From what I've seen 6-max is a lot looser than FR and they seem to pay me off more when I have the goods, so I think I'm going to stick with those tables until I hit $400-500 and can take shots at 25NL.

Just posting this to brag a little and share my excitement with you guys. Never run this good in my life before so I'm pumped about it!

F'n right man. Remember this heater when you eventually get coolered.

I've been running fairly 'meh' lately, but last night I was up 5BI at 100NL, and today 2.5BI at 200NL, so i'll toast to your/our heaters!

Beating the rake at 10NL is completely doable, and there's no reason that after 40k hands or so you shouldn't have grinded up a BR for 25NL if you're a solid player. Not to mention all the learning through experience you get in the process.

Just keep in mind that you are currently underrolled for 10NL which means the swings are going to hit you harder, which means you'll tilt (in either direction) more easily which could affect your play.

Then again I am the guy who started 25NL with $50. I got lucky, and even at the time I accepted the very real potential that I could easily go broke, as I had before playing 25NL with a few BI. The farther up I get, the more conservative with BR management I am.

Yeah. Since that last post I'm up another BI so my BR is at $150...

My plan is that if it should drop below $100 then its back to grinding the sngs for me.

Thanks for your encouragement. I hope to be rolled for 25NL by mid-july. I'm going to keep playing lots and studying the game and hopefully making good decisions xD

I'll try to get some hands up after tonight. Honestly, I haven't had any majorly tough decisions tonight. hopefully it stays that way (I know it won't, but I'm trying to be positive xD)

Anyway, good luck to the people who aren't running as well as me.

Rakeback is vital at the mircos. I will also offer a few links to iconic posts on Rakeback and Bankroll Management that really helped when I was just starting out, learning to be a winning player at 10nl 6max and FR.
