This was the 4th hand of a 10-man $5.50 SnG. I seem to find myself in this situation quite often lately. What is the best way to play this hand on all streets when someone just keeps calling? If the diamond doesn't come on the river I call every time.
Big Blind is t20 (10 handed)

| I like how you played this hand up to the turn and now it is an easy call on the river getting 4.4 to 1 odds. You only need to have the best hand about 1 time in 5 to make this call +EV. |

| The river is easy call. I may have pushed AI on the turn. Either way if opp caught the flush they played it bad. |

I have been experimenting between raising 3x BB +1 BB for every limper, and 4x BB +1 BB for every limper in situations like these. I think I agree with you at these stakes, the 4x BB + 1 BB seems to work better. I think I'll stick to this at the $5.50 buy-ins. |

don't just think in terms of BBs, think about stack sizes as well. Assuming they suck enough to limp/call with weaker As/Ks, you want the pot to be as big as possible pre flop. Later as stacks get shallower and you need to steal it makes more sense to just go with 2.5-3x although even then I'll often toss in a 4x if I want to be able to PSB shove the flop or something.
Also, recognize you can raise a UTG limper more than a MP limper because he'll usually have a better hand. If he doesn't know the difference, he also won't care about 100 vs 120. |

Yes, I was only experimenting between 3x BB and 4x BB + 1BB at the first two levels. When the BB gets to 50, I will usually raise 3x BB, and when the BB gets to 150 and over, if the stack sizes allow it, I usually start switching again from between 2.5x BB and 3x BB. As you say though, it is good to toss in a bigger raise every now and again, keep them guessing.
Also, if it's been folded around a few times to me in the SB and I've been stealing from a tight BB who seems half-decent, I'll sometimes just complete and then bet the flop whatever comes. It seems to work for me better, rather than just continuously raising him pre-flop and annoying him. |
