wow i just looked at the box score of the lakers game and i saw why they lost:

Kobe Bryant: 13/33 FG's; 1/10 3PT FG's

i actually have no idea cause i didnt watch teh game, and he was close to having a triple double, but those numbers really jumped out at me.

i guess so. these are pros though. they shouldn't get tired during the game, and their teams suffer while they're out (some more than others obv like the magic).

by this logic, wouldn't most teams just play their 5 starters for 48 minutes?

there's only so much a human body can do before performance starts to suffer. even when said person is an incredibly well conditioned professional athlete.

with all the destruction of their bodies from slamming themselves to the floor (flopping) every time down the court, i could see it taking a toll on their bods heavily. since that won't ever change then i guess it does make sense to rest them.

absent that though, i don't see a good reason why all 5 starters shouldn't be able to play the whole game without getting tired. this is their freaking profession, and they should be conditoned way better than they are. they should never be bent over sucking air after a play.

anybody watch the games today? I blame Luke Walton for killing any momentum his team had in the last 3-4 minutes when he got the shit blocked out of him by some bench player cause he was taking an afternoon stroll on a fast break layup that should have been a dunk.

omg this tilted me sooooo bad!!!!!! i was like screaming at the TV screen. what a friggin idiot.

jazz shot 20 more free throws. lakers only made 14/25, and jazz made 37/45 so that was a pretty big deal imo.

before LA pushed OT I asked my GF who doesn't know anything about basketball first the classic if she goes for the tie or the win(she said win {acronym Renton hates}). Then I asked who she's giving it to, Kobe(who just missed the last 3-4 3's he took) or Derek Fisher(who just hit 3 in a row). After reminding her Kobe was the mvp of the league she started to rant about how bad Kobe was doing. Thats how bad it was.

if i were phil jackson and kobe was shooting poorly and fisher was shooting well, i would have absolutely no problem going to him. hes proven many times in the past he can hit big shots. also from the look of the box score vujacic was shooting it very well too.

ray allen and paul pierce have pretty much been no shows so far. i actually disagree with you lukie. i think detroit has a very good chance of beating boston, assuming they advance. detroit has proven they can win on the road and boston has proven they cant. however, i think by that time pierce and allen will start to show up.

reread what I wrote; I agree with you.

I'm sorry but Lebron is just LOL and everyone thinking he is the next Jordan or Magic or anybody worth mentioning will get a laugh from me until this guy actually does something with his jumper. 5-6 years in the league and the guy still cannot shoot, what a joke.

Also, lolCeltics, what a joke your offesnse is. I don't want to hear that Cleveland is a good defensive team, you're supposed to be the best team in basketball with 3 of the league's premiere scorers of the past decade and you're putting up 12pt 4th quarters.

In conclusion, this series is fucking boring.

wat? the spurs won both games at home.

spenda, lebron is 23. im not a big lebron fan, but he is soooo young. i dont think it can be disputed that lebron is more athletic than mj or magic, but we'll see through the course of time how he does. i mean how sick is it that in 6 or 7 years he will be peaking.

The age thing is grossly overrated because this is year 5, this isn't a 23yr old rookie or 2nd year player, 5 years with as much PT as he gets is a seasoned veteran. We should expect a player with so much "talent" to have at least improved his jump shot by now, shouldn't we? Doesn't the thing still looked totally cock-eyed to anyone else?

Lebron shot 35% from 3 his 2nd yr in the NBA, 31% this year. 75% FT 2nd year, 71% this year. So, his shot has actually regressed? He's becoming a worse shooter? He's shooting more 3's and less 2's than he used to. The main reason is because teams are very content in letting him do so. Very Very content as a matter of fact (see Spurs/Celtics)

Jordan shot over 50% from the field 6 times in his career, and they all happeend in his first 8 years in the league. His 5th year in the NBA could be called his most productive, 32.5PPG, 8 RPG, 8 APG. That's pretty fucking ridiculous, it's also, combined, his best year ever. Just some stats to look at, I wouldn't just assume Lebron is going to get better because he's young, don't forget what will happen if he loses a step, say byebye to 3-4 layups/dunks and 3-4 trips to the FT line a game and say HELLO to 3-4 more 18 footers.

comparing him to jordan just isn't fair. lebron isn't jordan, and probably won't ever quite get to that level. i agree that lebron's biggest "weakness" is his outside shot (and his often spotty desire to play defense, but thats a different story).

you are overly critical of lebron though. he was arguably the best offensive player in the league this year.

lol if lebron loses a step he could still get to the rim faster than most people in the league.

lukie i think it is fair to compare him to jordan, because ever since lebron was 16, he was getting ridiculous hype, about how how he could be the best player ever, and still is. its not his fault, its the media's. so if the media is going to say he might be the best evar, we should compare him to the best ever. am i the only one that thinks he looks really awkward when he shoots? like when kobe shoots a fade a way 17 footer im like wow that is the most amazing shot ive seen.
