Wow, I expected some discussion.

I just wanted to throw this in addition to my pending review, this is immensely helpful to those of us interested in playing mtt's in general, not just rebuys. Edit: I should add that, thanks to these videos and the concepts you made so easy to absorb, I managed to go deep in a big freeroll and make a few free bucks. Sure, the first 500 or so people out left on suicide pacts, and the next 500 were people who forgot they registered, but I still managed to make the final table and feel it was in large part due to what I picked up from these videos.

Also, I'm wondering, how much did you take down for this second place finish? If you don't mind me asking that is.

Thanks for the kind words. I thought I mentioned it but 2nd in the $8r is usually between $3.6k-$3.8k. I think in this video it was $3.8k.

Congrats on the FT too. When you have 2k+ players in a tournament its very difficult to even FT a tournament.

Just wanted to say that this is really a great video. I am currently trying to work on my MTT game (I am usually a SNG player). There were really some great points in your video I hadnt thought about so far.

I have been running really good in MTTs this month (the highlight of this was a 5th place in den $11 20k gtd on Stars last week) and your video helped me a good deal with this. I hope everybody appreciates what a great source of information you gave to us for free. You are explaining every move you make very well and usually people would have to pay good money to get a to see a video like that.

Thanks a lot!

Elipsesjeff...First of all I really respect your game...now that I just boosted the ol' ego...By far some of the best commentary of MTT coverage i've seen. You explain every play and make it easy to understand and digest...Keep up the good work and would really like to see some more coverage if you find the time....

Great video, explained things very well, and nice to be able to see a video from start of tourney to the end, very nicely done.

Heya CodeRed ..... I've been meaning to watch these for a long time, and I'm finally getting around to starting.

Question on part 1. You comment on how, in general, you are willing to gamble it up at 50/100 if you haven't yet doubled up, so that you won't have to start with the minimum 5k stack. If this happens, and you just can't catch a break, is there a monetary point where you just resign yourself to the 5k stack? For example, if you just catch no luck, and shove 3-4 times at 50/100 and lose every time, double rebuying each time .. do reach the point where you just say "OK, we'll keep the buyins at where they are and just play the 5k stack"?

I don't play a whole lot of rebuys but in terms of bankroll I kind of budget for 5x --- rebuy to start, one double rebuy, and the addon. Sometimes I get away with 3x, sometimes I end up 7x having twice done the double rebuy in the first hour. I don't know if I've ever spent more than that. I certainly never quit during the first hour, but I think if I reach that 7x I'm more inclined to just try to protect my 3k until the end of the hour, grab the addon, and try to make things work from there.

I guess it comes down to how to put a value on the utility of the 8k stack vs the 5k stack going into the 2nd hour. You do address this a little in the video but I was wondering if you could give us some more thoughts.

Looking forward to the rest of the series.

As a new member of FTR I really appreciate these videos. I never imagined anything this detailed. I watched intently with great interest and just wanted to say thanks. I'm going to watch it again too. I hope it's not wrong of me to ask about your 3/6 limit video. Can't get it to play and am looking forward to seeing that one. Thanks again. Great work.

Not sure why you wouldn't get it to play, but I'll ask Xianti if there's a technical problem...

James,

I believe you're talking about Jeff's old video from a couple of years ago. That was converted to flash video with some older settings that were not working for a lot of viewers. Since you had no trouble with his new videos, the problem was probably the older conversion.

Starting this week, we're going to re-convert and re-post all older videos in our library, including Jeff's 3/6 LHE video, with the new settings so they will perform better with most viewers. Please check it again in a week or so.

Thanks for your feedback!
