Ok I ran into this real weird player at 10/20 (it's Sunday what do you expect?). He's 80/20/1.5.

Everytime I'm involved in a hand with him, he calls on the flop and turn (regardless, it would seem, of any cards that are in his hand or on the board). Which is fine with me.

But then, after c/c'ing the whole way, he donks the river if it is at all scary, or if he has any pair. So villian has K high, but the river puts the third flush card out - donk! Villian has Q3, board is K4743 - donk! Villian has 55, board is 789TA - donk!

Occasionally (like 1/5 times) he actually has the scare card he's representing, but mostly it just seems like some weird play he makes.

My question is, is there any value in raising this guy with a good hand, like TPGK? I mean, should we expect him to call a raise with his bottom pair since he's already bet out?

Does he call raises with the hands he's donk betting with?

I never did raise him as the board had always completed some draw or was paired, etc., and so don't know what he would have done. I just figured there wasn't any value in raising a TP-type hand since I'd been betting the whole way.

I think once or twice I'd checked the turn with A high and he donked the river then as well. But what surprised me was when he'd do it after I'd been betting the whole way. weird.

Sounds like a wonderfully exploitable tendency.

Well, you could go ahead and raise him with TPTK and get a sample size of one (presumably that will be the one time in five when he has the hand) Rolling Eyes or you can wait until YOU have the hand and raise him then. Also obviously watch when somebody else re-raises the villain.

If the guy is making this play all the time, you can raise him the very next time you have a strong one pair hand or better at very little risk.

Since you're hoping to learn whether or not he will call, you would like to actually have a hand when he does, so the only criteria in my opinion is that you not make the play as a bluff initially, and be willing to call a 3-bet.
