Ive decided that Im going to start an operation, mainly to keep track of my progress and keep me focused, but also to get feedback on hands and poker in general.

Quick Background- Ive been playing online poker for about 4 years and I have been playing seriously with poker as my only source of income for about 2 1/2 years or so. I went "pro" my last semester of college because it was paying better than my serving job. Poker allowed me more time to study for school since I could make the same amount of money in shorter time and on a flexible schedule.

Ive been at 100NL since I stopped working. I started 8 tabling and since then Ive kept adding tables. Today I mainly 16 table 100NL on Stars. Ive done decent but have had to pay monthly expenses and payback student loans/credit cards so I havent been able to move up limits. (I also was slacking and partying too much up until 6 months ago or so)

Ive decided that its time to get serious focus on growing my roll and moving up limits. I want be multi-tabling 1-2NL at a good winrate and then decide from there if I want to go to six-max or stay with full ring and move up.

Ive finally paid down a lot of school debt but unfortunately Im still going to have to make withdraws to pay for living expenses and a couple left over debts but I should be able to continue to grow my roll as I do this. I want to have $6000 and no cc debt before I start taking shots at 200NL. I will keep my progress updated and post any interesting hands that come up to look at.

I should be a 200NL reg by 3/1/08 at the latest!!!

Today I played ~4000 hands of 100nl and ended +$668

Obviously I ran very well and I felt I played pretty well also. This solid day is extra nice because Ive been breaking even for the last 4 or 5 sessions due to some sick beats and a tilty call or two.

Im about to clear a $1500 Bonus as well but I will need to make a significant withdrawl in the coming week to pay off some billz.

I plan on putting in a decent amount of hands throughout the week so hopefully everything will still be on track after the cashout.

Played 5087 hands today for a total of -$441

Today was the exact opposite of yesterday. I got sucked out on in every big pot I played. I feel like I still played well though. As long as I continue to get in hands, I should be fine getting to 200NL by March.

I added a couple tables to the mix today also up to 18. Didnt seem like much of a difference from before so Ill probly keep it this way for a bit and try it out.

Here was a cool hand (cuz I won) against a TAGG reg who threebets a wide range against me...

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (9 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Hero ($103.55)
SB ($88.35)
BB ($100)
UTG ($11.70)
UTG+1 ($48.15)
MP1 ($101.85)
MP2 ($178.50)
MP3 ($83.85)
CO ($39.30)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 9, T.
6 folds, Hero raises to $3, SB raises to $11, 1 fold, Hero calls $8.

Flop: ($23) 5, J, 6 (2 players)
SB bets $15, Hero raises to $92.55, SB folds.

Final Pot: $53

Results in white below:
No showdown. Hero wins $53.

Got in 2079 hands in today for a total of +$489

I ran VERY hot in my short session today. I feel like Im having some really swingy sessions lately. I think its just variance but Ive been in alot of big pots lately and Ive had some gross suckouts but today most everything held up.

I had a couple interesting hands today... Let me know what you guys think.

Hand 1

Villain is a 17/13/3.5 and his w@sd is 70%

There just isnt much I beat on the river and I really dont think hes betting out on this flop with a random 8 and then getting crazy with trips. He probly sees me as solid.

Turn: ($13) 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $8, SB raises to $24, Hero calls $16.

River: ($61) J (2 players)
SB bets $75 (All-In), Hero folds.

Final Pot: $61

Hand 2

Villian is running 8/5/4 but I only have about 65 hands on him so far but I havent seen him get outa line at all. Pretty Standard laydown??

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (8 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

UTG ($161.60)
UTG+1 ($102.80)

SB ($73.25)
BB ($119.15)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with , .
UTG calls $1, 1 fold, Hero raises to $5, 5 folds, UTG raises to $15, Hero calls $10.

Flop: ($31.50) , , (2 players)
UTG bets $20, Hero folds.

Final Pot: $31.5

Hand 3

No read on villain. Im obviously not folding here.... but does anyone care about the difference between 5 bet shoving, or flat calling, shoving any non ace flop??

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (7 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver Cards)

MP2 ($121.75)
CO ($127)

5 folds, SB raises to $3, Hero raises to $10, SB raises to $30, Hero calls $20.

Flop: ($60) , , (2 players)
SB bets $30, Hero raises to $170.5, SB calls $41.25 (All-In).

Turn: ($202.50) (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: ($202.50) (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $202.5

Hand 1: Raise preflop. I can see you loosing to only K8 or 84 here, so I'm making another raise on the turn.

Hand 2: If you put villain on AA, you should have folded preflop.

Hand 3: Standard.

I really don't think I could get away from hand 1. The amount of times you would call and have someone show A8 or 78s or something similar would be worth it to call in the long run in my oppinion.

Hand 2 I call. Only hand that beats you is AA or a rare 10. Maybe it's a leak for me but I just can't lay down KK here.

Hand 3 I probably would have felted also.

Hand 1: I would call river. I don't think he has only KK, JJ or 88 here. He could be trying to push you off your hand, you have been quite passive.

Hand 2: I would shove on top of his bet. I cannot put him only on AA.

Hand 3: Standard

BankItDrew: Don't you prefer to show weakness/passiveness to allow villain to push river like he did? 3 AF opp could well do it, no?

It sucks that I cant string together a couple of winning days. I know that I made a a couple of bad calls today but I think most of todays loss was just bad luck. Im going to post some of my biggest losses.

SB ($93.50)
BB ($40)
UTG ($64.40)
UTG+1 ($98.50)

Hero ($100)

Final Pot: $205.5

Bigger 4 bet??

Hand 2

In this hand villain is running 44/15/4, donkish. That weak turn bet on a drawy board is why I raised. I felt that I was ahead and pushed to protect my hand. Any better way I could have played this one??

Hand 4

This guy was a fish and had shoved all in over my raise like 3 or 4 times in the past two orbits. TT good enough to make a stand??
