Someone teach me how to fucking run good. I have lost my last 3 +95% favorite hands allin. You throw in what should be a good amount of FE and I just don't know how much of a favorite I am. This hole sucks. I got a lot of good advice from Spenda last night, much appreciated. It just sucks like shit playing so well and dropping buyins like this. TJ gave me some great advice as well as not to play with scared money. I think that was a huge thing because Spenda could easily tell I gave up a lot on turns. Anyways, today I played just a little but I did play 25/24 which is helping me open my game more. I am also table selecting better which has been a key point why I haven't progressed much in the BR.

A lot of months work is now down the drain. I am down a lot now. Near the starting point of my BR. I am not quite sure what to do. Either play down, keep sticking to this as I am owed $200 in sklansky bucks or just quit. I'm not really looking for anyone to read this and have sympathy either. Hope I make that clear. Just writing down my thoughts. The money in my BR isn't something I can take lightly at all and is also all I have until at least a few years. I think I forgot how to play as I was doing pretty well before hand. I think I really would need like a billion hours of coaching, which I cannot afford.

Try a change of wind.

Back when I was veeeery tilted, I tried my hand at Omaha. It did wonders for my game.

Check out some HORSE, or 7-card stud. It really broadens your views. I've been playing HORSE lately and its good. Also, try PL hold'em. It will limit variance.

NL can be a true bitch sometimes, and if you are not careful, it can and will decimate your bankroll, if you allow it to. A change of wind wil do you good.

I was playing around on PKR, then I found this limit-Omaha HU table with the hottest lesbo-chat thing going on, I really really want to post the chat here to cheer you up, but then again I might out the players involved and that might not be so nice.
See what you can get if you vary your game? Wink

WTF has the internet come to? Wink

Anyway, check these out. These are shit I picked up along the way. It might aid you, or it might not. Some are for ring, some are for tourney, but these are simply things I observed and have stuck. Check 'em out, lemme know.

Alright, after dominating GMML in the Gauntlet as well as blind man's bluff, I realized that I was at least soooo much better than one player. Therefore I decided to play some. I think I may play like ~5 HU SNGs a day. I am doing pretty well with them and am pretty confident. I am also kind of happy with a few things I have picked up about aggression and putting people on ranges. I have so far to go though.

I decided to play some 25NL today and lost like half a buyin to a shorty when he hit his set vs. my AA. Later on I played again but this time with Alexos watching me. I had a few interesting hands to me at least. Also played 21/17 so I opened up quite a bit. It was funny because I really wasn't focusing on play more hands...but this was a small sample size. So that's my image and here are the hands:

1. Villain is a 50/30

1. Hmmm, i didn't like this at first glance. But i guess you're practically pot comitted by the turn cos of his stack size, so u may as well shove to gain a little FE (this is presuming he knows where his fold button is). I can't see him calling with a worse hand tho

2. I don't mind the PF call that much, but the less said about the rest of the hand the better Wink Also, LULZ if he called and flipped over 1010 or JJ

3. Well he certainly won't try and steal ur blind again!

4. I guess u should fire again to charge for the FD (and the fact u may have the best hand) , but i always die a little inside when i build a big pot with TPGK.

5. Hmmm, this is close i think. Given no reads, i've tried to come up with a range i think a semi-donk might smooth call ur flop bet with (btw i know the turn card was a spade not i diamond, but i couldn't be arsed to change it all back Razz):

Text results appended to pokerstove.txt

4,840 games 0.005 secs 968,000 games/sec

Board: 6c 5h Th Jd
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 35.981% 31.98% 04.00% 1548 193.50 { AdKc }
Hand 1: 64.019% 60.02% 04.00% 2905 193.50 { TT-77, AQs+, AcJc, AhJh, AsJs, ATs, KhQh, KcJc, KhJh, KsJs, KTs, QTs, JcTc, JhTh, JsTs, 9h8h, 87s, AQo+, AcJh, AcJs, AdJc, AdJh, AdJs, AhJc, AhJs, AsJc, AsJh, ATo, KTo, QTo, JcTd, JcTh, JcTs, JhTc, JhTd, JhTs, JsTc, JsTd, JsTh, 87o }

You have next to no FE against that range, so i guess c/f is better? Seems really weak tho Confused

p.s. Was your aim for this session to never check or call on the flop ever?Very Happy

But this guy succcks at 50/30 right? We can't push for value here?

Well I actually wanted comments on all streets because this hand = "LULZ" unfortunately Crying or Very sad

Haha. Do you like this line or is it too strong?

Yeah I hate TPGK as well. I hate a lot of hands. But I fold too much. Don't you think a better hands raises me or leads into my on turn? Sure they could c/r turn but can't we still bet for value?

Wow, you think all those hands call here pre after my 3-bet? I think we have tons of FE as he probably has like a weak mid PP. A set usually raises flop IMO.

kettleofish wrote:

Haha. These were just a couple of hands. But overall my flop aggression was very high, though my overall AF was a 4...which is way down for me haha.

Anyways, much appreciated for your analysis!! My responses to your answers aren't me being a dick, but I need to question everything to get better, right?

Okay, some slightly drunken replies:

1. U can push for value i guess, but i don't see u getting called by a worse hand is all. K10 -K8 or QQ, 1010 is never calling unless he is a spazz, in which case nice hand.

2. Okay then, i hate turn bet once he calls your flop c/r. The C/R in itself is fine, as he's only calling with a 10 or an overpair, but u have no need to bet the turn. IT's unfortunate for u that u went runner runner, but really NOTHING that calls ur flop bet is folding the turn, so essentially u are building the pot with a bluff.

3. I do actually like this line. There's no way this flop hit his hand, so when u hit the 9 u are ahead, and shoving the river is better than c/c IMO.

4. What bothers me is that you are WA/WB here. U may well have the best hand, but with 2 callers on the flop it's really hard to tell. But ya checking is weaksauce, so i guess u have to lead, and probably call a shove if either villian is so inclined. Sucky spot.

5. That's a super loose range i have given him, but even if u take out the less likely holdings (78s, 78o, 10J), u are still crushed by anything other than 77-99 (which is admittedly what i think he is likely holding). Remember that at this level people call 3-bets with a lot of suited broadway cards that have a ton of outs on this flop/turn.It's a flip at best, and if he is holding anything other than 77-99 he IS calling. Maybe i am being nitty, but i think assuming u have tonnes of FE here is wrong. I think u can wait for better spots to get your money in.

btw i'm glad u disagree with some of my points, as if there was a super simple way to play every hand then any clown could win at this game. But put simply, my main problem with these hands is that u seem to have taken hands with decent showdown value into bluffs. And i'm in the process of getting more aggro myself, so it's in my best interests to question things (since i seem to be down a tonne from b/f in recent days) Smile

Umm...I'm really posting because I have a new pic for Jack to format haha. But yeah I played some cash and finished up like a half buyin. Played a few HU SNGs and lost 1 to a fish (loltrappedu on stars). Teamviewer is being gay on me...also I think I am sick/getting more sick and I can't sleep.

Here is the pic, Jack. Take your time:
