I just got a new laptop and its SICK... but I need help with a couple things.
First, anyone know how to rip DVDs onto my hardrive? I cant figure it out at all, and I have a CD/DVD writer.
Second, anyone know any coffee shops/stores that offer free wi-fi. Ive tried a couple spots and they all want to charge me a subscription fee. Im away from home alot so I need a few places where I can stop for a couple hours at a time to play.
Thanx in advance. |

The purpose of a bump is to bring the thread back to the top of the list so that people that missed it the first time will see it. When there aren't any new threads bumping is just annoying. |

Try an airport. A lot of them offer free wi-fi. Of course, parking is gonna cost you a mint unless you have real cheap public transportation at hand. |

My bad. I changed the title so I bumped to bring it back to the top after it didnt get any replies.
I just found out the Corner Bakery has free wi-fi for customers. Pretty stoked. Anyway, anyone else know any other shops that are like this??
As for DVD shrink, I take it that I would have to buy it? Is there any way to do it with Real Player or something? |

| DVDshrink is free. But it'll just create a whole ISO file of the DVD or the vob files which will be about 4gb. Then you can rip to another DVD. But if you want to store it on your computer, its probably best to convert that to AVI - 700mb-1.4gb conversion is good enough. |

DVD decrypter is still free, and its really easy to use.
A program called daemon warez will let you run the burned copy off your HDD and fool your PC into thinking its running off the DVD. |

DVD Decrypter is no longer developed (though old versions can be found), but ImgBurn picked up the pieces: http://www.imgburn.com.
I think you mean Daemon Tools: http://www.daemon-tools.cc
For all sorts of guides on how to rip/encode/convert stuff, take a look at http://www.doom9.org/guides.htm |
