| Looking forward to it, hopefully this one will get a bit more action than the last book club. Mine just got a new delivery estimate: "August 24, 2007 - September 17, 2007". F'n bullshit, gonna try to get it elsewhere. |

I may pop in and out of the discussion thread. I got the book in a few days ago [order from conjelco for a faster delivery] and read it and thought it was pretty good stuff for the most part, but there was a huge portion of the book that I really didnt agree with, or at least, not at my stakes and because of that I feel a little let down.
The last 3/5 or so of the book talk about setting up preflop raise sizes to make hands easier to play postflop. However, the tactic is incredibly exploitable and while I think it is great for smaller stakes games at 200nl and up I think it will just get exploited incredibly easily. Now I didnt completely read through this section because I was just so put off from what I first read, so maybe they talk more about balancing, etc. But from what I read over at 2p2, it seems like they didnt talk much about that. I probably will read that part over again in the next few days though, so maybe that will change my mind about the book.
Anyways, sorry for the rant. Back to the main point, yes, I wouldnt mind discussing this book; however, I wont be able to commit to it regularly. |

| I look forward to it too! Hope I can keep up with the pace! I'm not sure I'll buy it though, hoping that someone posts a pdf somewhere. (I'm a life nit! lol) |

| i read an excerpt of it in the 2p2 magazine (about PFR sizing) and thought it was incredibly stupid and actually counterproductive to all but the worst hand readers. |

Yea, that excerpt was the intro to the section that I really disagreed with and it just so happened that nearly half the book was dedicated to that. |

Just received my copy yesterday. Since there have been some negative comments already, I'm going to give it a quick read and post some preliminary thoughts next week. I don't think there's any way it won't be worth the $20 to me, but we'll see.
If you've bought the book and are interesting in discussing it, plz post here. Or if you're even thinking about it. |

Delevery estimate was way off, got mine today. Perfect timing since I'll be off the tables for a week while visiting my family back home. When should we start the discussion? I'm gonna take the book to the little private office and get started on it right now . |

| I'm about a 1/4 of the way through it so far. Should finish it by the end of the week I think. Doesn't seem like there's a ton of interest, so I'm not sure I'm going to do a formal book club. Maybe just post some discussion threads... |

I finished it this weekend. It definitely presents some new ways of thinking about NLHE. My first reaction is that I won't incorporate many of the ideas into my game, but honestly the more I think about it the more I waver on that point. I need to re-read a couple of sections and give it some more thought.
It seems like there's very little interest in an FTR book club for PNL, so I'm going to scrap that idea for now. If more people buy it and want to discuss it, please post here. |

| This book needs discussion. Do we keep it in here or start separate threads? I'm not a very good discussion starter, lol. |

Let's start separate threads for separate topics covered by the book. For example, we could start ones like... "PNL - The Basics of SPR" and "PNL - Does it really suck to play top pair hands and SPR around 13?" |
