Read on MP1 is loose fish. Has a bet and call button but no fold button. BUTTON is a non-retarded aggressive player. I've seen him bluff, and I've seen him push the nuts (and be called).
Those who have seen my other posts would know that aggression, deep stacks, and pushing non-nuts is part of my game. That's why this fold is just uncharacteristically weak tight for me. At the time I thought with such deep stacks and so little money invested in the pot, I would either be way behind or close to flipping on a board like that. If I reraise, he might lay down bottom set, but if I flat call I'll get demolished by the combo draws. So I opted for an uncharacteristically weak-tight option.

I like this fold:
You aren't in good shape againt a strong drawing hand, and a set of sevens has you owned. You're pretty much looking for a four on the turn and thats the only nice card in the deck for you.
Button plainly isn't going anywhere and with these stacks I favor the weak / tight option.
Shallower stacks make this an auto-all-in. |

Yeah deep stacked (300+BBs) this is an easy fold. If you play you need to push, and if you push the only hand you are crushing (22xx) will very likely fold. That will leave you either a small favorite to a combo draw or a massive dog to top set.
Plus, since you have two of the 5's already, I think the chances of him having top set rather than a 65xx w/ clubs type hand are quite good. |
