Fold pre-flop unless you know MP1 is a fish. Then I'd re-raise to 450-500ish.
Flop is a really easy fold. |

Do the math, it's not a high value call. The reason I dislike single table tournies is that it's correct to pass on marginal spots early so you can put yourself in a position to win a prize. "Wanting to see a flop" with goodish cards goes from a smallish problem in a cash game to a distaster in small tournies because you'll bust yourself out early and a 1.5x to 2x bigger stack won't increase your prize pool equity by as much.
Early on you should be looking to crush people with high value propositions, not gamble it up. Let the fish run into AK/QQ+/sets and bust or double. |

First hand I just flat call with position on the donkey and play for set or overpair value. I'm not re-raising this early. If I was in the blinds, that's a different story.
Second hand easy shove over. You want to negate your positional disadvantage and give yourself some fold equity by shoving over here. |

Ok. I was borderline on the call, but I figured a sizable raise should either leave me HU or take the pot, whereas a call would probably invite all the limpers to come along due to money in the pot.
UTG had J9o for middle pair, as mentioned MP1 has TT. This would have been Saturday night in the US, I guess the gamblers were out to play.
Second hand I shoved and he called with 77. He has a note that he overvalues pocket pairs now. |
