That is all.

Just read your latest update... you're not going to tell us which site is which???

Funny that you start spewing if your session goes on too long. I find that I do the same if I know I only have time for a short session. I've made a rule that I don't play for less than an hour, but I've never set an upper time limit. Maybe b/c I rarely play for more than 2 hours straight anyway...

I wasn't sure if I should put the names of the site in there because I was just making a point that you should play in the games that fits you best. What is my "Site A" could very well be your "Site B", if you know what I mean. So I just wanted to point out that if things aren't working out in the game you're in you might want to change sites.

That, and I don't want you sharks infesting my good site Wink. J/k obv. My bad site is Full Tilt, my good site is Battlefield (Prima).

Congrats again Halv! Why do you play so overrolled? 50 buy-ins seems a little excessive?

I find table/seat selection to be crucial at 1/2 FR at FT, fwiw. There are some good tools out there, but I'm sure you know all about them. msn me if you want to discuss Smile

I guess I'm just a bankroll nit. I think it's because I don't really have that much experience playing short handed. As you might remember I only switched from FR back in december, and I just don't feel like I've played enough hands on 400NL 6m yet. Plus the variance is potentially huge in the bigger games, so I think a big cushion could be a good thing. Finally, I don't know if I can handle the mental side of having $5k at risk in a given instance. I don't know if I'm fully capable of keeping the money aspect of it out of my head.

That said, I'm going to take your implied advice and dabble a bit in the 600NL game. I was actually up there on a couple of tables yesterday after chasing a fish, and the game at those tables didn't seem very different than the 400NL game.

I'll definitely take an msn (or public) discussion on table selection tools.

Well, since you write ahk scripts, I assume you know about nanochip's FTTO for datamining FT. There's also FTBuddies by runstop, which isn't perfect, but it works. I recently got the new beta version of PokerGrapher (which I think only works with PostgreSQL db's?) and it has a buddy search function that will search your databases for players with certain stats. So I use that to search for players with >100 hands, VPIP > 30 (or VPIP > 25 and PFA < 1.5) and once it finds them, manually enter them into FTBuddies. Voila, a fish finder. Or at least, a fishy stat finder Smile

"Unfortunately" I've all but abandoned FTP, so those are pretty much out of the picture. Props to runstop for the FTBuddies script, I used that ALOT when playing there. I am a eurofish so returning to Party was pretty much a no-brainer, though it took me waaaaay too long to realize that.

The tip about Pokergrapher's buddy search is very much appreciated, I use the graphing function but never really checked out the other functions. I think I'm gonna write a script/program to grab the buddies from there and add them to the Party client buddy list. Great idea!

I might look into making a buddy list app for Prima as well, though the client is a bit more difficult to work with. Plus, with their recent 30% cap on Rakeback, I don't know if it's worth it. Still, the 400NL game there is fishy as hell at certain times of day, so it should definitely be considered.

Sorry to hear I jinxed you Halv. If it makes you feel any better, I took a shot at 400NL this past weekend, dropped 2 buyins, and then dropped 3 more at 200NL. Recovering at 200NL now, but it will be awhile before I take another shot. GL to you...

Lol no worries man. I jinxed myself by moving up in stakes and becoming a calling station because "all these aggros must be bluffing me all the time" for the first 5-10k hands. As per my latest blog entry, I've begun to turn it around. I'm sure you will do the same, if you haven't already (I have the memory of a goldfish).

I would definitely get a job in Oslo. If you don't know many people there and you start playing professionally you could become a shut-in real quick. Fnord has said it before, and I'll paraphrase it again, poker is a wonderful hobby but I'm sure I'd come to loathe it as a job.
