Sorry its been so long since an update (for anyone who actually reads this). I went in the tank in April and was very unmotivated/ashamed to update. I lost 10 buyins in April. In a 3 day span I lost all the profit I had for the month and was down 140. May has been a good month so far and now I'm back in the green. For May, I'm up 10 buy ins and almost back to my pre April downswing. I'll try to update this regularly now.
My roll stands at 910 so hopefully after another few sessions, I'll be able to hit up 50NL. |

| I find I hate sharing results when I am sucking too. Doing it makes you accountable, and more motivated to improve, though.... |

Ok, time for a little self reflection.....
I have to be one of the world NL players around! After 17k hands of 6 max 25NL I am in the red, yes in the red. I know you guys probably don't care but I've got to get out here.
My stats through my suckfest are 20/8.5/1.5. I am a weak tight poon. There is no possible way I can ever move up playing so nitty and terrible. I've decided to start over so to speak and retool my game. I'm obviously loosing tons of $ getting blown off of hands playing scared and not using position to my advantage.
Today I'm dropping down to 10NL and for the next 15k hands or so I'm going to try and get my pfr% up around 15. I'm going to try and use a raise or fold mentality. Obviously, I'm not going to raise every hand I play but if I'm going to open, its going to be for a raise. I am also going to loosen up my 3-bet range slightly. Probably the weakest part of my game is the turn. People always say post flop play and specifically the turn is where the money is made. I am going to make a conscious effort to fire another barrel on the turn. I am also going to try and maximize my relative position. Right now I do too much calling and not enough raising.
When I initially started this, I thought by 6 months I would be able to gauge my worth as a poker player. Well, I'm not going to settle for sucking. I don't need to be the greatest high stakes baller or anything, but geez I'm a smart dude, I should be able to at least get to 100 or 200 NL and hold my own. I've given myself to the end of the year to get this thing on track. I'll have to make some kind of decision as to what I'm going to do because we've got another baby on the way and I'll be damned if my now supportive wife is going to let me sit on my can and watch the wind blow all day. I've got to have the feeling like I contribute something to my family besides cooking and cleaning.
As of the end of the day today I've dropped about 40 at 25NL over a small sample size. I'm going to try and not be monetarily results driven and focus on improving my overall game. Today I'm playing at 20/14/3.5 so even though I've lost money I consider this a step in a positive direction.
Rant over. |

| I would be more concerned about your AF than your PFR% at those stakes. These guys play all sorts of hands so limping from position and smoking them post flop would be more beneficial. anything in the 22-16 vp$p / 20-10pfr range is ok but get that aggression to 3++ |
