No doubt some of you are aware that we've had a slight troll invasion from another poker forum today. Certainly it didn't come unprovoked, as there were some definite unkind words posted here about their forum and its members. Regardless, I think that we should all step back and relax before getting our panties all in a bunch trying to respond to the troll posts.
Now, certainly we've got a great site with a strong sense of community here, and I can understand where perceived assaults upon it are going to be irksome. But think about where you are and why you're here.
First, this forum is so awesome, at least to me, due to the level of friendliness and helpfulness (fuck, is "helpfulness" even a word?) from every member from the newest newbie all the way to the mods. As soon as we start posting ugly remarks about how another forum that might not be as friendly or helpful "sucks," etc., we're actually taking our own community down to that level.
Second, and maybe more to the point...you guys...you're not in a gang. It's a web site. Theirs is another web site. There is absolutely NO rivalry or competition. The sites both just happen to be about the same subject. Do you really want to get involved in an imaginary internerd turf war?
Anyway.
For sanity's sake, please just ignore the trolls. If you are so inclined, report them to a mod to get them cleaned up. There's no need to get into ridiculous little e-battles when we could be spending our time talking poker. |

If it was in good fun and not mean-spirited, and if we set up something cool like donating the proceeds to tsunami relief, I think that would be a great thing. |

You know tyler i play better pissed off and I dont mind a little good natured heads up challenge. If they want to prove their superiority, a little heads up challege is a fair way to do it.
Of course as it turns out, duece duece's mouth is bigger than his bankroll, so he will be going away and that is just fine.

you obviously missed the hundreds of other posts about how davidross plays poker for a living, supporting his family on his winnings, and has had huge success at the 15/30 game. Furthermore, while even david admits that part of his loss was from bad play, i would say that at the 15/30 level a 300+BB swing wouldnt be outside of the realm of normal possibility. Sure, not every player, or even every tenth player, will experience it, but the variance in those games is higher than at the .5/1 level. Those players are truly bad and truly rich. My favorite kind

Hey john, nice to see you migrate.
We actually have mutal respect for david here, and the link was just in good fun. However, anyone who swings over 300 BB should have stopped playing and thought about his game a long time ago. I have a personal rule set up that has helped me stay off tilt: End the day/session at 50 BB down, or switch sites. Taking a day off is still a good idea after losing such a large amount.
At what point during this horrific downswing at 15/30 does he take a break? 500+ BB in 9 days must stem a lot from playing on tilt, which even the best of players go through.
Is there a chance you will stay around and continue to post? |

since i originally joined to troll, and then found out you were no quaterlifecrisis.com (which clearly deserved trolling) i will probably hang out for a while. As mentioned in my post on the other site, i do prefer the other forum, but there is little wrong with this one. What are the chances i can get my handle changed? Its odd to not end my posts with my traditional parting message.
peace
