This is my goal 500,000 hands from now - June 30.
The reasons for even attempting this are:
1. To build a 25k+ roll, I figure this is about what I need to 'super' table select between 200 and 600 nl.
2. I am likely to be buying a house that needs a new roof plus some other stuff.
3. To put me on pace for SN elite by mid Dec.
4. I am going to need a new car by ~ September.
5. To see if I can handle this many hands to not continue looking in my awful market for a better job, so that I may perhaps turn Pro(I already use some money from poker to pay my bills).
The Plan:
To play 6k hands per day, by 8 tabling for 7-8 hours. I have played 250k so far this year so this is about double what I am currently playing. I have been working 30-40 hours/wk, however I will only be working 10 hours/wk at the most while this is attempted. If I play those hours I had been working I will hit 6k hands per day. My current roll is ~12k, and I am playing 200 98% of the time with some 100 if the table is good. I have just achieved SN status, so if I play 500k hands I will pull down 300k VPPs. This will get me the 200k, 300k, and 400k milestone bonuses. Plus an additional 300k Fpps/mo for 900k Fpps total for 9 $1500 stars bonuses. That comes to $22,500 and if I run 3ptbb/100 thats another $30,000 at 200nl, for a potential total of $52,500 in 3 months. However the $22,500 is what I need for a new roof and to build my roll to 25k, so if I just BE over this period I will accomplish my goal, and I will be only 100k VPPs from the 5k milestone Bonus to put towards a new ride.
Now all I need from you is to tell me how crazy this is, and that I can never play 500k hands in 3 months... |

When people set themselves targets it's always a good idea to make sure that all of the variables are within a comfort zone - don't set your bb/100 too high, don't assume you'll be able to play every day, leave yourself space for breaks.
But it seems like your target is only achievable if you manage to perform at your limit in each area. Don't underestimate the psychological effects of falling behind, either, which is that much more likely to happen if you're stretching yourself.
But good luck - it'll be quite an undertaking! |

I have to agree with biondino here, but I think it's great when people aim high!
Good luck! |

i personally think you'll burn out well before you ever hit these numbers. If youd set a target to continue what you are doing for a 3mnth period, showed you can continue to do it and stepped up in intervals then i think you can do it pretty easily.
But IMO this is too big a step, when your roll is at that level where it can go busto pretty darn quick (not to say you will, but weve seen plenty of players who have)
regardless, gl with it, i just think you need to reevaluate 7-8 hrs per day is just going to burn you out pretty quickly. |

Alright here is an update. I ran into a couple problems. First I had to move twice in a little over a month, this was due to a mortgage issue that took 3 weeks to resolve. After closing on the house I had to take 5 days off to prepare the house before I could move in and get the cable turned on. So we are in the 7th week of this 13 week project out of which I was only able to play45 out of a possible 59 days so I lost 2 weeks worth of play.
So over the past 7 weeks I have logged 173k hands. I plan on playing a ton over the next 4 days(double VPPs on Stars). I think I will come in around 400k hands by 6/30. |

| Sick, props on being able to play that many hands in such a short period of time without going insane. I can't even imagine how many FPP you must be raking in right now while they are doubled. |

This thread isn't about how I am running, but if you really want to know...
I generally have been running bad. I have had a 18 buyin, a 12 buyin, and 3 10 buyin downswings each lasting 5k+ hands. I have had only 1 5k+ hand block where I ran 5 ptbb/100 or better. I also am a losing player on Friday(-1.59 bb/100) and a marginal winner on Sat & Sun(~1.5 bb/100). These are the times when the games are the best, and also when I play the most, 90k hands over those 3 days. During the week when the games are toughest, I am a solid 4.0 + winner, and I usually play during the day...
So all in all I have 183k hands in for a monster winrate of 1.84 ptbb/100 showing a profit of 13.5k for 7 weeks. Plus I have cashed 4 $1500 bonuses, plus the $2000 milestone Bonus, for a total profit of 21.5k. For you Rakeback freaks the 4 bonuses are 35.2% Rakeback as I have paid 17k in rake. |

Total hands played :327,702...
I thought I would get a little higher, but I had some other stuff going on in June that I did not account for(I was Tournament Director for a series of local tournaments), then I took a shot at 400 and played less tables for a week.
The April and May ended up pretty good over all for me. 194,000 hands at 1/2 with a 2.20 ptbb/100 winrate. This is not as high as I would like, but I am 8-10 tabling and continue to run like crap on the weekends.
June was awful and has continued into July. Since June 1 107,000 hands at 1/2 for a whopping $7.56! This including my 15 buy in drop at 2/4. I managed to pull enough Bonus $ to show a profit in June, but it has not been fun. I think someone said 'you will run worse than you ever thought possible'. This is me right now. Had a 30k stretch at the beginning of June -13 buyins. Last 50k hands -25 buyins.
Anyway I am sorry I haven't been post in this thread more. My goal was 150k hands per month, plus the extra week up front. It turned out to be 100k hands per month, mostly 'cause I ended up taking off more time than I originally planned for. I think its time for a real blog thingy... |

jager- ur work ethic is so incredible that you should spend X hours a day watching CR videos/getting coaching/reading 2p2/playing less tables LAG or whatever because having played such an absurd number of hands and seeing such a low winrate you have to come to the conclusion that u r doing something wrong- most of which is likely being too passive postflop.
i just say this because putting the work in to raise ur winrate to 4 pt bb/100 at 1/2nl is going to make u soooo much money and also its going to result in much fewer swings. |

Unfortunately sauce I do spend X hours a day reading through all the forums. Funny thing a few months back I tried to increase my postflop aggression and I went on a solid BE streak at 100nl. I have picked it up again only to see a 44 BI downswing, although this time I am much more selective about my aggression, just on a horrible run. I went almost 10k hands without winning a single AI hand.
BTW see new blog thread thingy. |

| nah man its not about aggression exactly more about accurately putting ppl on ranges- for instance allowing someone to triple barrel and calling them down with top pair the whole way |

2.2ptBB/100 at 1/2 10 tabling is very good, and I'd be more than satisfied with that.
Anyways poker is all about understanding, not just hearing. |
