Long HU session HH, comments please

Thanks to the help I have received from posters on this forum (particularly Taipan168 and Gingerwizard), as well as continually re reading HOH, my results in SNGs are improving and I'm finding myself in HU situations a lot more these days. This HU HH session is extracted from a 10 seat $11 NL HE on party, villain starts HU with 11,000 chips and I have 8,000 with blinds at 200/400. The HU session went on for quite some time with stacks changing hands a couple of times. I have added some of my own comments to the text where I think I played ok or where I could have played more effectively. I suspect overall I may have been too passive at times, but with the blinds giving me an M of 14 or so, I wasnt going to play without something! Any comments on my play, good or bad would be greatly appreciated.

First hand, J3o - I think checking the flop is OK with top and bottom pair. On the turn there is 800 in the pot, bet something like 500-600, there is no need to overbet the pot.

11. J3o - after opp checks twice I would take a stab on the turn - bet 500 or so.

12. A4o - whether to call is read-dependent on opp. If opp had been pushing over a lot I would call as any A is a good hand HU. If not, I think folding this is fine.

13. 87o - take a stab on the turn.

14. QJo - I would raise preflop. 1000-1200 to go. As played the fold is fine.

15. 94o - I would definitely bet the flop when it comes monotone. Top pair any kicker is a good hand HU, almost like flopping a set on a full table. Don't let him draw out on you with a naked heart. Other than that, I think you played the turn and river fine.

16. Q8o - definitely raise preflop, 1000-1200 to go. As played fold is fine.

17. 92o - bet turn after opp checks behind on flop.

18. 55 - yes, raise preflop. 1800 to go and call a push - or just open push. As played, don't "raise to see where you're at". I would just fold this on the flop, if opp is betting even bottom pair you're drawing to 6 outs. Definitely fold the turn and river. You should have been AI preflop with this hand. Any pocket pair is a strong hand HU.

20. A7o - with your stack ~8x BB, just open shove preflop. You need those blinds and any ace is a good hand HU, I'm delighted to shove with A7o.

22. KQo - just shove over. You only hit a K or Q on the flop 32% of the time, what are you going to do if you miss with 20% of your stack in the pot?

24. K8o - I don't like this. Firstly, raise preflop - make it 1500-1800 to go from the BB. As played, either shove over his minraise or fold. There is no point calling the minraise then folding to a minbet on the turn. I would just fold the flop with bottom pair since you were going to fold to a minbet on the turn.

25. AKo - meh, limp-reraise is OK but I would prefer to do it with a made hand like QQ+.

26. K2o - raise preflop, 1800 to go. In this spot I am raising any pocket pair, any A, any K, better Qs and suited connectors.

27. K8s - definitely raise preflop. Harrington has a LOT to answer for with his advice to complete the SB with almost any two cards because people think that completing is the right play rather than RAISING! As played, I would bet the turn for 800 or so. Don't overbet, this loses you a LOT of chips if opp pushes over.

28. AJo - don't minraise. Make it 2400 to go and obv call any push. You got unlucky to lose the 2:1, oh well. Now you know for sure that opp is pushing over with crap, use this info.

29. J6o - no choice whatsoever.

30. J4o - just shove preflop, you have no choice.

32. 62o - I think this is fine. Not sure I would shove it preflop when you have no fold equity either.

33. A2o - DEFINITELY shove this with <4x BB. I am shoving ANY TWO CARDS here, and I am DELIGHTED to find a suited ace to shove.

34. QTo - definitely shove it again preflop.

35. J7s - shove it again preflop. As played, just shove over his flop minbet.

36. KQo - yes I think it is an easy call the way this opp has played. The only thing that gives me reason to pause is that we are behind any ace, but unless he has AQ or AK we are not crushed.

37. KTo - unlucky. You have to call the push though.

38. A5o - raise preflop. If you were prepared to call the push you should have just raised or shoved yourself.

39. K7s - yes fine to shove, finally you shove something!

OK, I looked through the rest. General comments:
- You need to raise preflop MUCH more heads up. Aggression rules, particularly heads up - don't just complete! As I said in one of the hands, I think people are misinterpreting Harrington when he says you should complete with any two cards when they think they should complete rather than RAISE!
- Don't minraise. If you are going to make a preflop raise, make a real raise of 2.5-3x BB. If your or your opp's stack is <10x BB then just shove it.
- I think you played this too passively postflop, if opp is showing weakness by checking then BET.

Thanks for your comments tai, very helpful! As I was reviewing this HH I could see that I was too passive generally but getting confirmation of that from a player with much greater experience really does give me the confidence to start being more aggressive.

Dude you never ever even tried to take down a pot Unimproved. You need to raise a much wider range PF and you need to try to pick up some of the pots postflop. Your passive play really got you into trouble.
