Can someone enlighten me on Monaco/Monte-Carlo?

I have been looking up on info on Monte-Carlo and as far as I can see there is only one Casino. I was under the impression there were loads... like some sort of French Vegas.

Does anyone know? Has anyone been? Is it worth a visit?

The cruise starts in Nice (Fri) 29th Sept I will be arriving in Monaco on the Monday.

I managed to find this snippet @ wikitravel
"Entry into the Monaco Casino will cost you €10 for a day. There are also passes for a week, month, or even a year (which costs approx €50). As is usual for casinos, you are not allowed to take photos once inside the casino. It's interesting to observe the games, if not participate for a bit. Watch how much money changes hands! Another attraction is the glass display showing the casino chips of higher value. You get to see the €500,000 chip, which is massive for a chip (in worth AND size)."

you probably know this by now, but there are only 2 casinos in monaco... the grand casino of Monte Carlo, which is more like a museum with few actual games, and another one called cafe de paris, which is referred to as an "american" casino because it's got all the blackjack, slots, and low stakes games.

monaco is a tiny principality and Monte Carlo is just a small neighborhood of it that juts out into the sea. Monte Carlo is definitely not like las vegas (not even like the Monte Carlo las vegas hotel). 80% of Monte Carlo is a manicured garden.

btw i doubt they have any poker whatsoever in monaco, unless it's in a home game...
