I want to be playing 1/2 limit in a couple months, so I need a BR of 600 in 60 days. Thats my plan.
Right now I am building my BR and gaining lots of experience my Bonus whoring for jeff. In my first 477 hands, here are my stats:
VPIP: 21.89
PFR: 8.60
Agression -
oFlop: 2.59
oTurn:1.50
oRover: 1.71
Total: 1.96
Coldcalls: 0
Went to SD: 32.58
W$SD: 30.23
BB/100: -16.50 (ouch)
Total BB: -77 (ouuch)
Of course there must be leaks, but I do think I have not gotten the best of cards (it is not even 500 hands). I think I need to continue getting about the same numbers just with more wins at showdown and a positive BB/100. |

OUCH, those W$SD is horrible, you must either be getting some bad beats or showing down at the wrong times.
You are on a pretty bad swing here, but I'm sure you'll keep it up.
Good luck, you are taking your first step in improvement: setting goals. |

Yeah, a little loosy goosy, but its only 500 hands. PT still has him autorated as Tight Aggressive though.
I did the math, If you could bring this down to 15% for the time being it would save you:
6.89% * 500 *.25 = $8.61, or 19 BB per 500 Hands.
Thats a big savings of almost 4 BB/100 if you could drop that VP$IP 6%. |

Depends on how tight you want to play. I think to start off with 15% is good, and as you get better slowly add more hands in to increase it up to 17%.
Mine is around 17.5% |

Must get tighter, must get tighter.
I'm at ~16.5 for the last several days (500 hands or so), so I'm getting better. I'm trying to get my overall down from something horrible like 24%. I need a lot more hands of tight play to make up for how loose I was in the beginning (I love how PokerTraker can track your learning curve, too!). |

edit: The more I play the tigher and more aggressive I seem to get. You learn more spots where hands like AQ are no good. |

Some hints for you to start tightening up more:
Stop playing Qxs. Dont play this hand unless all 10 players are in the flop and you are on the button. Still call if on SB though, as per usual. These suited hands will drain a lot of money out of you.
Stop playing your small PP (22-66) from Early Position, its still okay to call with them from MP though. Don't play these hands from LP if no one else is in the pot. If you are the CO or the button, you can try to blind steal, but otherwise fold. You want a lot of players to see the flop so when you actually do hit your set, you can build the pot up quite nicely. These are actually the easiest to play. Stop check/calling down to the river with these also in multiway pots. Chances are, if there is 1 bettor and 1 caller, one of them usually has a higher pair than you; it is not worth the extra bet, as the pot is usually small in this case.
Stop playing weak broadway cards like KTo from early position. I saw you raise with KTo from middle position, thats VERY aggressive, in a loose game, just call. KTo and QJo are very easily dominated and if you play these hands from EP and a person on your left raises you, theres a chance you are already dominated. You'll get a feel when you should play these hands the more you play them.
Make sure you connected cards are suited as well, before you play them. |

In a good loose passive game 22-66 is an easy limp. In any game it's not much worse than break even. In a REALLY good loose passive game I'll start limping medium Axs. Similar thoughts with KTs, QTs, JTs...

KJo, QJo - Last 4 positions
KTo, QTo, JTo - CO/Button
Open raise or limp behind. Sometimes muck behind a tight raiser. Sometimes raise behind a really bad limper (particularly if the blinds are tight.)
I stopped playing pre-flop via a chart a long time ago... |

It also depends on the table.
If some idiot is mashing raise at every chance pre-flop you need to tighten up overall. If it's a loose/passive limpfest then you can play a lot more hands getting a cheap flop and/or crap hands protecting your equity when a monster raises. If it's a tight table or tight with 1-2 live ones, you're actually playing an extra hand here and there from the last 4 positions in an effort to isolate/steal the blinds and/or bad players. |

You've also been playing LHE for 9 months or so and know how to play a hand in every situation.
Gabe, on the other hand, has very little experience playing and starting out tight and working looser is a lot easier than starting looser and trying to cut out hands.
I'm trying to cut his VP$IP down, sometimes its difficult to tell at the microlimits which ones are the passive and which ones are the aggressive ones, even though they are all loose. |

Yeah, I'm just saying it's more important to know why the charts are a given way and why good players make certain pre-flop decisions than to play by any chart after you've learned the basics of the game. |

My last 1000 hands:
VPIP: 19.3%
PFR: 9.9%
Amout lost: $1.19
BB/100: .24
Agression: 1.91 (not good enough!)
Went to showdown: 41%
Won at showdowm: 44%
eh, break even pretty much. I think I might be calling down when I know I am beat a little too often. |
