Quick question - should I cut out the chat? There's a lot of it, and it could be distracting, especially since I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be able to use the converter for this since I'll be adding in hole cards for people.

Yes, I think you should remove the chat.

FWIW, I'm throwing my hands up on the PokerXFactor replayer (if you don't have an account, you can get a free one to view the link without having to subscribe). I can try to do the combined history as well, but I don't know if it will show up or not. FS, when you have it, can you email it to me?

My view of the game: http://www.pokerxfactor.com/HH25724/FTRexp

Yea. I'll send it after I get the remaining 4 histories. Unfortunately I really doubt it will work, as I've tried to make it more human readable and have already spent an ungodly amount of time on the 5 I have doing mindnumbing cut/paste.

I should have just written a script to handle this but it's out of my programming league, opted for something that looks like this (note placement of hole cards, rather than copying the "Dealt to" lines):

PokerStars Game #6444116836: Tournament #32371167, $10+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Level I (10/20) - 2006/09/27 - 22:00:00 (ET)
Table '32371167 1' 9-max Seat #1 is the button
Seat 1: courtiebee (1500 in chips)
Seat 2: JGB146 (1500 in chips)
Seat 3: fjuanl (1500 in chips) is sitting out
Seat 5: caesar66 (1500 in chips)
Seat 9: FlyingSaucy (1500 in chips)
JGB146: posts small blind 10
fjuanl: posts big blind 20
*** HOLE CARDS ***
caesar66: folds [8d 6h]
FlyingSaucy: folds [3s 8c]
courtiebee: folds
JGB146: raises 40 to 60 [9d Qc]
fjuanl: folds [7s Tc]
JGB146 collected 40 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 40 | Rake 0
Seat 1: courtiebee (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 2: JGB146 (small blind) collected (40)
Seat 3: fjuanl (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 5: caesar66 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: FlyingSaucy folded before Flop (didn't bet)

Hmm...maybe just fwd me the originals when you get all of them and I'll see if there's anyway I can make it work.

Alright we'll see. Update- Checked my email and I've got all histories but one now. Come on fimanoid. Smile

I think it might be nice to have both human readable one and a scripted one for xfactor (if it works). I'll forward them as I get them. It couldn't hurt to try a single hand first and experiment with various flavors of the combined history to see how xfactor reacts. Much thanks Jeffrey

Just came across this thread. Brilliant idea, FS; can't wait to read it.

For next one -- or this one if you're having trouble -- how about a wiki? I can set up and host it for ye.

If we are going to use this as a training/learning tool then I think weekly would be too much. I think we will want to spend at least a couple of weeks reviewing/commenting on the various plays, moves, etc.

I could see this being valuable if we do it say once a quarter, especially if you can get 9 new people for the next one.

Since he won he is probably trying to figure out how many "I am playing so good it hurts" comments he can put into the history.

oooooohh... a wiki! Another great idea.

LeFou, maybe you should explain/show what a wiki is for those that may not know.

Actually no. I'm sure that I will be flamed and called a donk for some of my decisions, I'm just trying to explaing my reasoning behind it.

Quote tags make it easier for FS. He's spending a huge amount of time on this, so let's make it easier for him.

FS, you're awesome! This is gonna be VERY interesting.

I feel like a chump sitting here manually moving text around, especially since the end result is probably going to be pretty raw-text looking. If we're going to do it quarterly or monthly, it would be really nice to have tools to do the merging. (because right now, I am said tool. Confused ) But I'm most of the way there. I've got courtie's, and Gator's, and buttsek's to merge in still.

BTW, I will have to look over my records, but based on the number of people who already wrote that did not make the game, we might already have a 2nd lineup of all new people waiting for the next one.

Yea, I think this could easily be much more automated so you don't have to write the quote tags in the future, for now it helps me though. Once I get some time I'll sit down and design and write a good merge script to make it easier to come up with a good looking result.

Also Jeffrey is messing with the histories now to see if we can get it to run in Xfactor's replayer, which would be absolutely sweet but I'm not counting my chickens.

I got in touch with support at PokerXFactor (and mentioned this would be a good advertising venue Wink). They said that if I emailed them all of the hand histories, they would combine them into a single view for us. I'd imagine we could do this quarterly (maybe even monthly), especially if they see a lot of new visitors.

Once I have all the histories (am I still missing fim's?), I'll get back in touch with them and then I'll post the related link.

I just emailed my HH with comments to Saucy.
