I'm sure a lot of people are interested in reading articles about the ban, about why the ban will fall, etc.
I sure am.
If you find any articles that have any relation to the ban please post them here!
EDIT by Xianti: Please post all relevant links to news articles (as opposed to other speculative forum discussions) here.

"Republican Source: No Big Deal" "The Bill will change very little"
http://www.gambling911.com/internet-gambling-bill-100106.html
| Quote: | It is a big deal, however, to the online gambling sector, with a number of publicly traded firms expected to release statements on Monday.
Andrew McIvor, the finance director of Sportingbet, which takes most of its bets from the US market, told the Belfast Telegraph Saturday night: "We have not discussed it (the bill) yet as a board and have not taken on what it really means for the company as yet. Things will unravel during the week."
Others have suggested to Gambling911.com that countries - quite possibly the online gambling Mecca of Gibraltar - may be considering legal action against the United States with the island nation of Antigua a near sure bet to follow.
Legal advisors for one major online payment processor have already indicated to Gambling911.com they plan on joining in on any pending litigation that might materialize as a result of this bill. A third party risk meeting is slated this coming Thursday in London.

"Reaction To Online Gaming Bill Vehement And Outraged"
http://www.pokernews.com/news/2006/10/reaction-online-gaming-bill-vehement-outraged.htm
"With the legislation passed, it is now clear what the American poker player has to do and that is exercise the power of the vote to clear the Congress of those who voted for the online gaming legislation.... Now poker players must exorcise these representatives for their disregard for their constituents." |

From partygaming.com...
"As a result of this development, the Board of PartyGaming has determined that if the President signs the Act into law, the Company will suspend all real money gaming business with US residents, and such suspension will continue indefinitely, subject to clarification of the interpretation and enforcement of US law and the impact on financial institutions of this and other related legislation."
Suspend all real money gaming business indefinitely??? |

That means if you're a US resident, get your money off 888.com and PartyPoker... Just to be safe.

the gambling911 article a few posts above says this | Quote: | | Sportingbet is expected to continue operating in the US market despite legislation that pushed through Congress late Friday night which would prohibit US banks from sending payments to online gambling sites. |
that's pretty optimistic/misleading/wrong.
Link
| Quote: | LONDON, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Online gaming group Sportingbet Plc (SBT.L: Quote, Profile, Research) said on Monday it would scrap a planned merger and might stop doing business with U.S. customers after legislation was passed there aimed at preventing gambling over the Internet.
"Should Sportingbet's non-U.S. international banking partners determine that the act applied to them, then Sportingbet would no longer be able to take deposits from U.S. residents and this would have a material impact on the company's trading performance," it said in a statement.
