woohooo !

Hi everyone at Flopturnriver. I just registered, but Ive been reading and learning as much as I can here for about half a year now. And two nights ago it all finaly paid off ! : )

I was invited to a 5000$ Freeroll Tourny and I thought Id play for the heck of it, not expecting to get very far. Especially because it started at 2 in the morning (over here in Germany at least). Well, I went to my first final table ever and in the end I played untill 6 AM and finished 2 / 1722 ...

#Game No : 4787205293
***** Hand History for Game 4787205293 *****
NL Texas Hold'em Trny:26367609 Level:25 Blinds-Antes(75000/150000-4000) - Sunday, July 23, 00:03:13 ET 2006
Table $5K Tight Poker (775456) Table #1 (Real Money)
...
Player bestHand233 finished in 2 place and received $535
...

Sooo happy : )

Thanks to everyone here at Flopturnriver !

Okay, it's results-oriented, and there are 3 better hands out there, but still; it's not been a great week, so this felt goooood.

** Game ID 872853167 starting - 2006-07-26 09:07:56
** Lord Of The Rings [Hold 'em] (0.25|0.50 No Limit - Cash Game) Real Money

- Villain is CO $52.45
- BTN $34.25
- SB $17.50
- Hero is BB $47.75
- UTG $48.75 [Sitting out]
- UTG + 1 $8.23
- UTG +2 $46.75
- MP1 $7.35
- MP2 $54.94
- MP3 $50.75

** Dealing card to Anosmic: TDiamond 9Diamond
Pre-flop
5 folded, Villain called, BTN folded, SB called. Hero checked.

Flop: ($1.50) JDiamond, 8Diamond, 9Spade
I hear you should get all your chips in for this position. Not sure how though Smile
SB Checked, Hero bets $1.50, Villain calls, SB folds.

Turn: ($4.50) 8Spade
Anosmic bet - $2.00 Underbetting the turn. Consistent problem. But gives him draw odds I suppose
vinvul called - $2.00

River:($8.50] 7Diamond
Hero bets $2.00, Villain raises $6.00, Hero raises $14.00, Villain $48.45 and is all-in. Hero calls.

Final pot: $92

Villain mucked, so it's just a guess, either A-flush or boat, I'd wager.

Congrats on getting paid off with a straight flush, thats always a good feeling. But man, you need to work on that turn and river betting.

Broke the 3k bankroll mark today. Also I started dabbling in 100NL. I think I'm going to move up even though I have some very obvious flaws in my game.

This is weak and sad compared to most of you, but it's a milestone of sorts for me. Last night I doubled my initial $250 deposit to $519 through a combination of Bonus whoring and playing just slightly better than break-even poker... Only took me 3 months... baby steps, right?

3 more months, and I've managed to double the BR again playing 25NL, pay myself back for my initial $250, PokerTracker and PokerAceHUD purchases. Playing with $1053 of other people's money is a good feeling Very Happy Wish I had time to play more hands, though.

Nice ElKrem! I'm almost that far.
Started with $125 playing 10NL, BR is $225 now. I'm looking forward to play 25NL, maybe when I've got $300. Smile

This is all over the past 4 months starting at $5NL with free money (from instantbankroll) and minimal poker experience. However, I did read a lot of books, and tend to be more mathematically inclined. I'd like to especially thank FTR (beginners forum and short-hand).

I have wanted to post anything in this circle but i've been sucking ass at all my tourneys lately - But today I finally pulled one off - won the $5 +50c 45 man SNG at FTP today - Good lord its been too long - Won $86 - I know it ain't squat, but i've had the worst luck (and bad play lol) - Even today with like the final table i got to the shortest stack and had to claw my way all the back - But then I wouldeither steal blinds or have hands - FINALLY!

my next win will be a real one though - like the 550 MTT i won in Oct - THAT was a nice one Smile

1) How do u get $30 free from Party?

2) congrats on the 30>>150 but watch out cuz u aint rolled properly for NL25... no offense just wud be sad if u lost all ur hard earned $150 just after winning it!

1) It must be because I haven't played on Party for at least 6 months.

2) No offence taken. I am well aware of Bankroll Management. As it was free money, I decided to mess around. I did well and it kept growing.
I have come to the decision to keep going until I lose a buyin.

I won my first SnG ($5.50). That's sad because I've played so many...but what a great first win, came back from 10-1 chip deficit at the start of heads up to take it home!

Just had a huge upswing in my Stars 11's. I had like a 8% ROI after 30 tournaments. In the last 9 tournaments, I've had 5 first places, 2 seconds, and 2 busts. Obv its a small sample size but in the last 2 days my bankroll went from $350 to 500 - not too shabby.

I've just started playing sit n go's like 3 weeks ago, and thanks to the guys on Ventrilo - I know a lot more about the complexities of tournemnt play.
