This hand just came up against a 42/1.9. I meant to bet $0.50 but mistyped (and was terrified of the straight after his call).

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

saw flop|saw showdown

Button ($9.83)
Hero ($8.22)
BB ($13.53)
UTG ($3.14)
MP ($5.14)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7, 7.
UTG raises to $0.15, 2 folds, BB calls $0.10.

Flop: ($0.32) 7, 6, 9 (3 players)
Hero bets $0.1, BB folds, UTG raises to $0.2, Hero raises to $0.75, UTG calls $0.55.

Turn: ($1.82) 8 (2 players)
Hero bets $5, UTG calls $2.24 (All-In).

River: ($9.06) 3 (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $9.06

Results in white below:
Hero has 7h 7c (three of a kind, sevens).
UTG has Ks As (high card, ace).
Outcome: Hero wins $9.06.

He was willing to push all-in on a draw. Now, the question: is this a positive EV move at micro-stakes? When you know someone who lives and dies by flushes is chasing, does pushing all-in on the turn get called often enough to make it worthwhile?

Bet bigger on the flop if you're going to bet.

Yeah some people love to do that.. they hit 1 in 3 and take your money though, that sucks. But on the whole it's a good thing.

I would prefer to make a strong near pot size bet on the turn and hope that he calls. Rather then push all in and hope that your opponent makes a desperation call, just put a nice cize bet out there (enough to give him bad odds to call) and hope that he does. Granted youll get sucked out sometimes, but id rather the dude stayed in the pot then folded.

On lower limit tables you might get a call by pushng all in, but this wont work once you move up, i think at this point the goal should be to get good enough to move up to higher limits...So i would play the hand the "right way"

Just give him bad odds and hope he calls, all in is too big of a bet, plus you dont want to scare him away from chasing

He bet more than pot. How much of an overbet do you recommend?

i thought the villain made a very normal play for this level - When I first read it I thought "oh, he wouldn't lay down AKsuited" w/out even realizing he had a flush draw - I have seen a LOT of players call down here with ONLY AK and no draws (except overcads) - gotta just keep value betting them...Thats why its hard for me to put players on hands at low limit - Its easier just to flop a set and get paid off....his stats suggest he's a total calling station, so he coulda called with damn near anything there

1) no he didn't.

I have pushed similar hands on the flop to get instacalled all in by the draw calling 10-12 bucks into 3 and then when they hit say "I had outs" I really liked the .50 bet there so you could get away from it if needed.

I love finding these guys at the table. In the lower limits the flush draw is the ultimate shitty player's hand. These guys don't know odds. All they know is they're SO close...
