Hey Renton I think we are both on essentially the same path right now. Although I am albeit behind with $2k.

I was wondering if you'd like to have a friendly competition to see who can get to $10k first. I think it would be good motivation for both of us.

Let me know what you think.

P.S. Should you choose to accept my challenge I can take no responsibility if I bruise your ego beyond repair Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

This is a really cool post. I think I'll have to try something along these lines when I get a bigger BR. Great idea. Idea

Alright, you're on. We'll put fifty bucks on it. So actually, it will be a race to 9950. Then the loser completes the winner's 10k.

You need your own thread parallel to Renton's so the rest of us can watch the race.

If you make the race public and make the earnings somehow verifyable, I'll start a thread for side-bets.

I am ok with going on faith.

Its impossible to prove anything because the money is so spread around. I will probably have money in five accounts simultaneously by that point.

I will start a thread in just a bit let me just try and make sure we have some base rules set down. You tell me if these sound good.

-First to reach $10k bankroll by means of Poker, Bonus Whoring, Casino Whoring, and/or Rakeback.
-Screenshots with that day's CNN's frontpage in the background for any account where some of the final $10K ($9950) is. ex Screen shot of neteller with CNN in the background.
-At least a weekly post documenting progress towards the $10k and sources of the money

Other than that I think we should be good to go. I'll begin my own thread in just a little bit (Gotta finish up a Bonus ). Very Happy

Renton's Whoring Adventure Day 28... (of 91)

Today sucks.

I took a shot a 100nl and got owned, over and over and over again. Some of it was bad luck, some of it was bad play. I had made a few bucks in the first few days since my last post, clearing the Paradise Bonus and etc. but today was the day the music died. In other news, I did some work trying to begin clearing the Martins Bonus, and losing about 200e in the process. I hate that site, the players are too good, I suck too much, and until further notice I am giving up on that sweetass Bonus.

Today humbled me, perhaps more than I have ever been humbled at a poker game. I have been playing seriously for a couple months now, after a few months of learning and reading Poker Books, and until now, I haven't had such a horrible day. I guess I am back to 50nl, so I can build up to where I once was.

Renton's Whoring Adventure Day 47...

The Bonus adventure has taken somewhat of a hiatus as of late. I have been learning new games and new stakes, and as a result have been spinning my wheels. The past two weeks have been break even for me. Its been really depressing and at times unbearable, but I think I am pulling out.

I played 2k hands of 100nl full ring on party today and yesterday, and I am really becoming more confident in my play. I have run 10bb/100 over these 2k hands, and i don't think I am running that hot. Sure there were some good situations, but at the same time, I got setunderset several times, and KKvsAAed a couple of times. AA sucked out on by someone who called a massive preflop raise with 37, etc. etc. Point is, I think I am really starting to beat this game, after weeks of anguish.

As for my shorthanded game, I am getting much better. I still can't beat it at the 100 dollar level, but I am very confident that I can beat it. I have since decided to move back to the full ring fold, as i feel it is a much lower variance game (if less profitable).

In whoring news, I am grinding slowly through the JetSet Bonus (still like 3/4 of the points left to earn). Also I am about halfway done with the River Belle Bonus. Today I completed the 10x Party reload Bonus, and my bankroll is on its way back up. I have since given up on the b2bs. I felt outplayed at B2B, and would like to improve my game a little more before returning.

I also wanted to mention something that Pelion made a thread about. We are going to try to have cashgame session reviews. Basically just two people who are trying to get better at the stakes they play will trade relevant hand histories for their cash game sessions. I was wondering if one of you who is also somewhat new to 100nl would like to do this with me.

Renton's Ring Adventure Day 55 ...

Wow. Things are really really good. As of now, the whoring adventure is taking a hiatus. This is now the Renton's Ring Adventure until further notice. I have come to the conclusion that the softness and table availability of PartyPoker far outweighs an inherent advantage in Bonus whoring at other sites. This doesn't mean that I won't continue to whore. I have outstanding bonuses at JetSet and River Belle that I have been chipping away at.

I have been beating the 100nl full ring game on party. I am a longterm winner I feel, as I am 7ptbb/100 over 15k hands, and 3.5ptbb/100 over 22k hands (this is including my horrible run at 6 max that didn't work out). Today I tried to play 8 tables at once. It worked out great and I plan on doing that from now on I think. I have made a whole shitload of money in that last week by my standards.

My bankroll is very healthy now. I have 35 buyins for the 100nl stakes. I will probably continue to play 100nl until I get to 5k and then I might begin to dabble in 200nl. I want to have a solid foundation before I move up, though.

This is definitely a case of me not trusting my read and in retrospect playing the hand badly. But anyway, this thread is about Renton and his current streak of tearing up 100 NL on Party.
Nice hand Rent, your river bet really convinced me I was beat, but I'm still not good enough to get away from it. As for the other dozen hands you've owned me in...well that's another story u bastard.

Renton I am hijacking your thread to spread todays misery! But at least you're in all these hands.
Alright, so here's the setup. I've been running relatively bad for the past couple days, but finally got my stack up on this table and have been playing a good lag style that's messed most of the table up. Until Renton shows up and ruins all the fun.

Hand 1.

Feel free to criticize calling Renton's reraise with q-10. But my real mistake here is giving Renton the benefit of thinking he only reraises with js and up. All in all I played this hand the worst.

Renton's Ring Adventure Day 57 ...

My third session of 8 tabling Party 100nl went swimmingly. Actually thats an understatement. I made more today than I have every made in one day of poker. I ran 20ptbb/100 for 3.5 hours (about 1600 hands), pocketing about 700$.

Today is a very special day. My thread has reached epic lengths (2 pages now), and I am now officially rolled for 200nl by the 20x rule. I don't think I will move up quite yet though. Please post opinions on whether I should move up. My plan is to keep on keeping on until I reach 5-6k.

Starting BR: 583.00

Current BR: 4214.36
