You must be joking.
Great movie. |
yah... I used to be really into B movies. They are great because they are good because of how bad/cliched they are. If you are new to B movies and want to get your feet wet, start with Evil Dead or Evil Dead 2 ( the sequel is the same movie, just a bigger budget I believe. The true sequel is Army of Darkness, which is completely kick ass. The main character in the Evil Dead movies is umm.. forget his first name.. something Campbell, he actually has a cameo in the second spider man movie, hes the usher at the theatre that doesnt let peter parker in because hes late. Another good one is Dawn of the Dead, the original (this one is actually a 'serious' movie, as opposed to the Evil Dead movies that are parodies of B movies but at the same time still B movies...). Attack of the killer tomatoes is obviously a B movies too, same as The Toxic Avenger.
Similar to B movies are movies out of Hong Kong. Like pretty much all of Chow Yun Fat's flicks. A Better Tommorow, Hard Boiled, ect ect. They are stuffed full of cliches, but none the less supremely badass.
And on a side note that Campbell guy is coming out with a movie this summer I think, I cant wait. Ok my B movie rant is over. |

b00st,
Can you include a brief, one-sentence summary at the bottom of each of your posts? You know, something like...
SUMMARY
B movies are cool and the Evil Dead series is g00t!
This way, I don't have to stop for 20 minutes to read whenever you write something. I can just skip to your Summary and I still won't miss anything. |

Yes, when i was told about the movie in my thread about buying movies for every letter, I was so thrilled. When I watched the preview to the movie on DVD, I was just about ready to die laughing through the entire movie.
But EVERY funny part, which is 5 good lines, is in the preview.
The best preview to a movie ever. But the movie just lost it. |

I actually saw this in the theater.
Yor, the Hunter From the Future
Yor, an extremely blond prehistoric warrior, comes to question his origins, particularly with regard to a mysterious medallion he wears. When he learns of a desert goddess who supposedly wears the same medallion, Yor decides that he must find her and learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters ape-men, dinosaurs, and a strange futuristic society. |

Also don't forget to add any movie where paris hilton is in.
Btw attack of the killer tomatoes was supposed was so dumb that it was funny.
They weren't nominated for worst movie in the oscars because they made the movie bad on purpose to win that prize. |

It's called the straight story, and an aunt of mine "recommended" it, and somehow got dragged into seeing it with my mom one day. The whole movie was him driving to his brothers house in a lawn mower, and the "climax" was when the brakes went out on a large hill. Moving stuff people, simply moving. |
Brilliant movie, just watched it again on cable a couple days ago- incredible acting and even more incredible direction/concept by David Lynch. The movie has been pretty much universally acclaimed by critics- and "regular people" as well ( looking at the member reviews on netflix- there is one bad review out of 124- ) You are the first person I have ever heard who didnt like it- but to each his own.... |

"XXX: State of the Union" (lasted about 25 minutes into this one, hoping it would get better, which was wishful thinking- gf and I had to turn it off)
"Face Off" Travolta and Cage- How could you go wrong with these 2 , or so I thought........ |

| I never rent these, but any movie that you see in blockbuster thats selling point is the similarity in title and/or theme to a really big movie. Such as vampire movies with the protagonist being a bad ass black guy with a sword. And the title will be some shit like DarkHunter. Those always seem like they would be REALLY bad. |

Wow, I was expecting to hear a lot of out of the mainstream bad movies here but this is just a thread of blockbusters no one liked. Except Xianti has tried several times to bring up "Yor", though I have have to disagree with this. Xianti, try watching it while drinking with the guys or something. This is one that's so bad it's entertaining!
I'd like to hear some more obscure bad movies. Lets get those straight to video messes out here. My pick, The Peanut Butter Solution. Anyone remember that baby? Anyone... no? |

For truely bad movies you have to go for the arty, bizarro ones.
I mean, sure, "Spy Hard" was so deathly dull that suicide really did seem a viable option. But for haunting badness you have to look at those pushing the boundaries of whatever boundaries there are trying to keep this crap out.
We had video nights at uni. I'd get some mainstream film, another mate would get a Hong Kong bloodfest and then another guy would get an arty film.
He brought back "I Love You" http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091244/
once. This film | |
