I am holding A9s hearts.

Flop 8H, 4H, Ks

I have a heart flush draw

Checks all around...

Turn: Qc

One guy bets and a few call

should I even see the river and hope for a hear or even an ace?

This is $2/$4 limit holdem.

Thanks!

What position are you in?

I'm looking to bet or check/raise that flop. Whatever it takes to get lots of money in the pot.

I am in early position (big bling), I don't want to bet and be called with ace high, but I also don't want to fold and see a heart on the river.

Raise pre-flop if there are 3+ limpers. Bet the flop. Pray they call with all sorts of crap. They won't disappoint.

As played the turn is an easy call.

Yup, you're building a pot at the expense of all of the loose calls. Also, the big pot will force all sorts of stuff to call you down when you hit. 1 in 3 times you hit your flush by the river. Sometimes you'll catch a 9 and/or Ace and be good. Although, you're in better implied odds shape if you can get someone with a King to lead the betting after a raise or two has gone in on the flop.

The way you go from beating to crushing these guys is to play better hands and better draws in bigger pots.

Buy a copy of Small Stakes Hold'em by Ed Miller. It's pretty clear you lack an understanding of some basic concepts...

Murs - you're not betting the A high, you're betting your NUT flush draw. 4 to a nut flush on the flop with 3-4 callers is an awesome hand. That's the kind of hand where you can win some of your biggest pots.

Is this online? It is easier for you to copy and paste the hand history and we will know the exact situation that way.

With 3 other players in the hand, you're only throwing 25% of the money into the pot. Youre ~35% likely to get the flush. So your risk vs return is 2:1::3:1 on every bet that goes into the pot, plus whats already in. Long run, your making a good $.

I agree with lhoney, I think you should post some hand histories. That way we know what you are talking about and can explain better.

2/4? you might want to drop down a level or two. Just my opinion.
