dpeends on the raiser, plus ur OOP the rest of hte hand.

come on guys this is a lot more interesting thread than you think . This type of descision can throw your ROI a whole bunch one way or the other.

I like folding here.

If you call, then you're going to miss the flop 2/3 of the time and when he cbets, you have to fold.

If you raise you're going to make it 250-300 and do you really want to put 1/4 - 1/3 of your stack in this early with A high?

Since it's so early, you're not going to have any reads on the raiser. I usually like to give people the benefit of the doubt when classifying them as solid or loose unless they prove me otherwise and it's just too early to do that yet.

What about pushing over his raise and picking up the dead money in the pot?

Here are three keys to getting the most out of A-K pre-flop:

1) Jam with A-K, but don't call all-in with it.

2) Raise enough when you have A-K to give your opponents a chance to fold.

3) Don't raise so much that the only hands that are willing to call you are the hands that have you dominated (A-A and K-K).

Had it been a 10 or 20 sng I wouldnt mind to push over opps raise without a read - ppl call all the time with AQ, AJ, hell even AT. And picking up 135 chips with a 800 chip stack is nice.

But this is a 100 and I can imagine play is much tighter in the early sng stages, so a push might be -EV.

I see it as a reraise or a fold. Can't cold call.

I would fold it. With AK early I like to make a small raise to get some money in the pot and hit the flop. I think it's important to be the aggressor with AK, so I don't like calling big raises preflop. ESPECIALLY out of position.

At what level buy-in are players actually able to fold AQ or JJ preflop?

I dont know guys for that small amount of money I might just call this hand. Call him and see the flop, if you hit it great then you push if not fold the hand and move on. his position does suck tho

I would agree with the fold. You are getting less than 2 to 1 on your money and will flop an A or K only 25% of the time and will complete by the river only 50% of the time. If you were in position this is still an iffy call.
