One word: YOR.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084935/
Yor, an extremely blond prehistoric warrior, comes to question his origins, particularly with regard to a mysterious medallion he wears. When he learns of a desert goddess who supposedly wears the same medallion, Yor decides that he must find her and learn his true identity. Along the way, he encounters ape-men, dinosaurs, and a strange futuristic society.
I actually paid to see this in a movie theater when it came out back in the 80s when I was a wee lad. And this was before I did drugs! |

The Royal Tenenbaums was good! A curse on you!
Lost in Translation was excellent. You want suck, see Life Is a House. My girlfriend loves it and wanted me to see it. Awful. But at least it ended in sex (not the movie ) |

Gotta agree that Castaway is by far the worst film I'd seen in ages. Closely followed by Apollo 13 - whats the point in watching stuff where you know what happens? Plus Tom Hanks is in both of these!
Best film lately has to be Hellboy - just come out over here and LMAO at that one. Best film ever - Monty Python's Life of Brian - seen it so many times and I still end up crying with laughter. Also - Its a Mad Mad World is very funny. |

I actually liked castaway. The rest of the listed so far have all sucked, or I dont know them.
The worst I've seen recently is definately "House of a Thousand Corpses" directed by Henry Rollins. Weird movie about some Frankenstein wanna-be.
The worst I've ever seen is "Let Them Die Slowly". Just thinking about this one makes me laugh so hard that my secretary peeked into my office, with that WTF look on her face. I was ~15 maybe; myself, my brother, and some friends all got high and drunk and popped this one in. It's about some group of scientist going to S. America and they get caught by cannibals who torture them before "dinner time". Very sick. The only reason we even considered renting it was the large sticker on the box saying "banned in 31 countries". We joke about this one every time one of us rents a movie. |

I tend to agree and disagree with some of your choices:
Kevin Costner Movies:
First off you have to be a fan of his to like them. Outside of baseball movies he has down few that have been any good. I really liked him in (obviously) Field of Dreams, and Dance's with wolves you probably could have had any actor in there and they couldn't screw it up. He was pretty good in Untouchables. I liked him in "For love of the game" and I thought he was decent in Postman, although everything else about that movie wasnt that good.
Police Academy:
Wtf? Police Academy is quite possibly the best series that contain 6 movies to it. Some of the police academies are OK, but numbers 1,3, and 6 are the best. Who can forget Mahony, Hightower, the guy with all the funny noises? Those are awesome. I have yet to see PA 7: Mission to Moscow, and i probably dont want to see it due to the lack of original actors in it.
Revenge of the Nerds:
You must be a nerd to really enjoy these movies, they are pretty good....Come on, who else could join an all black frat except nerds?
Daredevil:
This movie was pretty good, it had good action, it followed the comic book storyline fairly well, and it had a cameo of Kevin Smith, what else can you ask for? How about a hottie....oh wait, has one too.
My worst movies:
Moulin Rouge! - How can a guy go from Jedi to P*ssy in less than 1 year?! Come on, this was terrible, they really did change 50 good songs made by other songwriters and screwed them up and added them to the musical....they re-did Nirvana's "smells like teen spirit"....thats a crime!!!!
Not to mention all the Elton John songs that were tore up.
Training Day - I dont know how anyone could have like this movie, its a typical bad cop good cop while Denzel giving the worst performance of his life. I dont know how he beat Russel Crowe from "A Beautiful Mind." Now thats a crime.
Existenz - You dont even want to know....
Hackers - Dont even bother the movie was horrible and it had no revelenace whatsoever. Hackers 2 on the other hand was decent, surprisingly.
Dude, Where's My Car/Freddie Got Fingered..... Yeah like you couldnt tell these were bad from the title, Al Green really screwed up Freddie Got Fingered. |

I am embarrassed to admit, I do know. I made the mistake of watching the first 20 inutes of that monstrosity. A gun that fires human teeth, though! |

Um ... better than Bond? I liked the Police Academy movies when I was a kid, but I doubt I'd think much of them now.
Overall, I think I like your bad movie list better than your good movie list. Moulin Rouge is excellent (by far the best movie musical I've ever seen), Training Day is pretty good, Hackers is entertaining. Of course I avoided Dude, Where's My Car and Freddie Got Fingered, though. |

I thought training day was great and Denzel was awesome
I also quite liked Existenz, sure it was weird but you never knew whether they were in reality or not. It was quite thought provoking, as in what will happen when our technology is so advanced that we can totally simulate reality?
How will we know what is reality even when we take off the VR helmet or whatever it'll be. |

| I agree. Training day was a great movie. I feel that was 1 year that the Oscar actually went to the person who deserved it most. |

I definitely think he deserved an Oscar, but I don't know about for that year. He should've certainly won for Malcolm X, he was amazing in that. After looking up the nominees (found this crappy summary here - http://www.women.com/entertain/award/articles/0,,416092_416258,00.html) , I'd probably have given it to Tom Wilkinson for In The Bedroom in 2002. That movie was like an acting clinic.
Out of the nominees for the women, I'd have considered giving it to Kidman for Moulin Rouge and Sissy Spacek for In the Bedroom over Holly Berry, but she was very good in Monsters Ball, and it'd be really close. Niomi Watts should've been nominated and won that though, and Mulholland Drive should've taken home Best Picture and certainly Best Director.
A lot of movies we've talked about from that year. |

Ooh Ooh i just thought of another one, BLADE 2, that film sucked so hard.
As a physicist i take great exception to light being released from a "light bomb" or something and then said light to proceed at about 50mph down a sewer and ROUND THE CORNER of the sewer, AAAAAAAGH
Sorry, it was a traumatic time for me, someday i'll get over it. |

Wow, people's taste in movies is really quite interesting.
Personally, I have a few that I both loathe and like at the same time.
#1 being "Cheerleader Ninjas" Worst acting evar, but great gratuitus T/A. Recommended if you can find it and really want something bad and cheesy to watch that is "Wife" approved since it is not p0rn!
#2 would have to be Orgasmo, but for some reason it grows on ya. |

SpecOps you and me must have similar taste in movies.
Orgazmo is simply hilarious if you are interested in a Bad movie. I mean, it has Ron Jeremy in it!!! And you will never forget the meaning of DADV. Funny, but bad.
As is Cheerleader Ninjas. I remember renting this expecting a bad movie and thats what I got, but it still requires some props due to all the hilarious star wars/trek references about nerds. |

2. Glitter is coming on in 10 minutes...
How is it Glitter has not been mentioned? No one's seen it? I've got a full bottle of Riesling and I'm about to. |

Bump.
Also: The Straight Story rules. It is DL's second best movie after Mulholland Drive. And Donnie Darko rules.

I'm with 1123 and 7Ape on this. Fine if you don't go for artsy or weird flicks, but when you're trying to think of the Absolute Razziest POS ever made I always lean toward the boring, half-assed formula-driven cookie cutter movies, especially the oscar baits:
Worst Movie of the Year:
_______________________________ (fill in the name of whatever movie is out that features a big star playing a coach/teacher who inspires hisher students to believe in themselves and question authority etc. etc. This year it's Coach Carter. Last year it was Mona Lisa Smile and before that the Emperor's Club. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz) |
