Most likely HU, position, usually not aggressive player (she has a big hand, put her on KK/QQ here). Thus, I decided not to tell I had such a big hand by re-raising PF. Is my AI good here. She said she thought I hit a set and folded. I asked if she had KK and she said yes. I sort of believe her. I will put some math I thougth of later when you share your thoughts
simonv1 is at seat 1 with 296.35
jac-e-chan is at seat 2 with 124.50
CindyC is at seat 3 with 444.14
Cmurder is at seat 4 with 102.00
Saalis is at seat 5 with 584.40
CindyC posts the large blind 4.00
jac-e-chan posts the small blind 2.00

| With her PFR, you have to assume she has 2 outs at the most to beat you by the turn...Why not just call and let her bet the river? |

My thought right now. The problem is that if she has QQ she will be scared shitless if one of the 6 K's or A's pops up. But I should've taken the chance and just called. But I really didnt think she would lay down KK there! 170 to call 560 is almost 3.5-1 but I guess she was scared of the big money.. |

| its ana easy call to me on the turn then as you say let her bluff the river, but of course with the pot so nice on the turn its also arguably worth pushing so either she calls or she folds and you win a decent pot anyway. Either is good to me |

| I'm calling, you got position and I think with that huge bet she will push the river. Even if she folded to your reraise, check-folding on the river should be way harder. |

Cmurder: Fold
Saalis: Raise 12.00
simonv1: Call 12.00
jac-e-chan: Fold
CindyC: Raise 40.00
Saalis: Call 40.00
simonv1: Fold
Flop (Board: Four of Spades Two of DiamondsFour of Hearts
CindyC: Bet 85.00
Saalis: Raise 200.00
CindyC: Raise 440 (all in)
Saalis: Call
If you raise the flop she is more likely to think her hand is still good because this is the way a smaller overpair will play (because you didnt reraise preflop she probably wont put you on AA). Smooth calling the flop and raising the turn looks like you are slowplaying a monster...
As you played it I think you have to call the turn and on the river make a value bet if she checks or push if she bets. |

| I like your thinking here, arky. I really didnt want to scream " I have AA!!" by re-raising preflop. BUT I guess the turn was a wrong place to re-raise here.. I have to give a flop raise a try next time a hand like this occurs. |

Think of it from her point of view:
(when you raise the flop)
I have KK lets reraise this lag. He just calls, great he probably has a smaller pair or two face cards. Sweet flop! Lets make him pay.. He raises me, great stuff he has a smaller overpair lets stack this guy...
(when you wait for the turn to raise)
I have KK lets reraise this lag. He just calls, great he probably has a smaller pair or two face cards. Sweet flop! Lets make him pay.. He just calls. Hmmm. Surely QQ-99 raises that flop? Lets see what happens on the turn. Uh oh. Set alert, set alert! Abort abort...
You set up the first option nicely with your preflop smooth call and your read. |
