Both of these guys had been playing ANYTHING! My read told me 1 had an underpair, the other had an overcard (KJ, AT, etc) Mongerloi lost half his stack earlier by calling an all-in with J3o?!?! I thought I was putting Mongerlkoi all in pre-flop with my raise, I didn't quite do it, but I still got my chips in when I had the best of it. F'N RIVER!!!! Evil or Very Mad

I hated to fold this, but I was so sure he caught his flush. In hindsight, maybe his overbet signaled he didn't make his flush. I don't know. I'm still a little sick over folding this. I remember telling myself, "If you are sure you ar beat, why can't you lay it down?" I was just so scared of going out in 4th, but folding put me in the spot to go out in 4th anyway.

Ouch! I don't know man, looks well played to me.

I think you need to deposit some more money and move up a level or so, to play against some more predictable, less fishy players.

Maybe Monger isn't so bad, but that Resng guy is a complete moron. Only takes one hand to see that.

In the second example that's a good laydown IMO. He could have made a flush. He could have made the broadway Str8. He could have made 2 pair. I'd bet near anything that he made something better than your top pair with that turn card. I think it's a good fold.

I had no reason to think that Monger was any good. This is earlier from the same tourney.

It looks like opp put you to the test b/c the raise was for all of your chips. It would be 50/50 for me to lay it down since you already threw 1/2 of your chips in there anyways and folding would put you around 1k. You might have 4-rounds left and need to catch a few double-ups. Maybe the only thing I would do differently is go allin on the flop (especially with strong draws out there). Knowing I had the best hand, I would rather take the pot now and force opp to call and play now with their draw.

It was a question of going out in the bubble. The value of calling / folding comes down to this hand. I will make $0 by losing. But before I decide to call, I need to know if I have the best of it. As Dr NoChance said, there are too many things out there that could beat me, a made straight, made flush, straight draw, flush draw, 2 pair, etc. I needed to know if I had enough chips to play with if I folded. Yes, I barely did. I decided that too much was at risk to play this coin flip.

Did you see the other hands this guy played? And don't forget he has a big stack now. If he's not folding to a 900 raise, he not folding to an all-in raise.
