Last thursday I played three $10 sngs at Empire and placed 1st, 2nd, 1st netting a quick $80. I played another 3 $10 sngs the next day only to lose on bad calls on my part, I played really bad.

That was the end of a set of 50 tournaments where I placed ITM 48% getting 8 firsts, 8 seconds, and 8 thirds. I thought I would try my luck at the $20 sngs for at least a few, my bankroll was large enough that I could handle it. The first one I played I had AKs and made a large preflop raise only to get reraised by someone with a 9-9, we both go all in and I end up on the wrong side of the coin flip (ironic because I went all in on 9-9 and beat out an AK earlier in the week). I place 7th.

The next tournament I end up getting 4th, losing to a gut shot on the river. The one after that I lose top 2 pair to a river flush getting 6th. After another heart breaking loss in the $20 tournies i decided to go back to the $10 tournies. Lets just say that 3 more tournies for losses I get dealt this hand:

Ouch looks like you have hit a bad run, if you can afford it the best thing to do is ride it out. If not drop down a level and until you find your game again or your luck improves.

Sounds like you are on the wrong side of the coin flips . . .

This seems like a good place for me to vent. I feel your pain. Join the club. I was on a good streak at $20 SNG and MTT. Then yesterday came along. First the lucky hand: I'm on button w/ QQ in an cheap MTT. Bunch of limpers. I'm AI. Everyone folds but CO. He shows J7 suited. Yes, he's F'd. What was he thinking? Thanks for the donation! FLOP: J_J. Awww sh_t! Turn comes _. River comes...................Q. WOOOO HOOO! He deserved that suck out with that call.

Well that ate up all my luck for the day. Busted out on AA 3 times and JJ once. In the Muliti I have a big chip lead and get AA. I raise 4xBB and get 2 callers. Flop comes: 1044. I push to take it down. Two callers....Ooops. The first guy hit his set of 10 and the other guy showd like 84 for a set of 4's. That hurt my stack. Bad play on my part I guess... I but them on high cards or lower pair based on their past play but never put them both on the set.

Next $20 SNG got sucked out on with my AA v. AQ, f'r caught a set of Qs. Next $20 SNG we're down to 4 players. I have a healthy stack but everyone is about even. Blinds pretty big so I push w/ my JJ...don't really want any callers. Of course, BB calls with AQo. and hits a Q to send me to the rail.

Not a profitable day. End of rant.

My hand cracks pocket As, Laughing... I play A8 a lot it's one of my favorite hands that is not all that great, I like it more when it's suited, anyways, I don't see how you can raise pre flop with that hand, it's a basically a Ax suited hand, with a bet and then a reraise in front of me, I wouldn't play it, I don't know how that person called with that hand? But once he made 4 flushed on the flop, he had a 30% chance to hit it with two cards left, so maybe, I’m not sure if there was betting in the side pot but if he got to draw for free that's that guy with the Q's fault, didn't protect there hand against draws. You played it right and got your money in when you had the best of it, I don't think that your play was bad I think there however was...
