I usually play a regular home game, or a the internet, but was invited to play at another game the other day.
I am really interested in tells, and have read Mike Caros book of tells. Although, I've had problems getting a read on people looking at their cards, or the way they act when looking at their cards. I am getting pritty good at reading as soon as they start betting.
At the homegames I play, people tend to look at their cards as soon as they are delt. And I always sitthere wathing as the other players look at their cards (even if I am the first to act).
So, here the other day I picked up a interesting tell on two guys, and I wonder if anyone else has seen this. It was 5 handed (tourney) and I was ounder the gun.
As I had watched the two players after me I saw that if they found a interesting hand they moved their cards closer, and when they found a not so interesting hand they didn't move the cards.
I recognized this, knew that at worst I would be called by the blinds, and have position on them.. (I don't know if the play itself was specially good, but the read worked). I used it several times.
Saved me money when they had strong hands, and let me steal when they was weak.
Anyone else seen or used this, or other tells as to if people are strong or weak by the way they act after looking at their cards ? |
