Should I cap the turn here and the river? From his betting, it looked as though he could beat an overpair (maybe a 7 or 9-9), so I just called. What's the best line?

He doesn't have a 7 certainly. I often just 3-bet the flop and go from there, as a bad turn card or even something like a T or J will slow you down.
edit: Being short-handed this is more interesting... I think I would be more inclined to cap the turn and bet/call the river. The short folks will do stuff like 3-bet for a showdown FAR more often than the full table folks. |
