How loose should I go with my starting hands?

A rough VP$IP from PT should give me a good idea (and yes, i'm paying a LOT of attention to posistion)

20%?
25%?
30%?
more?

I'm just started in 6-Max, but like it a lot so far =)

An additional question is how aggressive preflop?

I've been almost always raising preflop when I open the pot, and calling with out something like AA/KK/QQ/JJ/AK/AQ if the pot is already open, and folding all but prime hands if there is a riase.

Where I play I can't use PokerTracker nor do I have Rakeback. It still beats Party by a long shot.

You don't need to add many hands which you would not play in full ring just make sure that you raise hands like 99 88 77 AJ AT in late mid position in unraised pots. Play aggressive against the right opponents and learn to trap others.

Much of the value of raising those hands I mentioned is picking up blinds and eventual loose limpers, which adds up in 6-max.

Raising AT and winning the blinds/limps is a good result, raising AA/KK/QQ/JJ/AK and picking up the blinds is alright but you would have preferred to get some action.

Remember when you raise a marginal hand pre flop you don't have to make a continuation bet when you miss, only do so when you think that you have the right odds for it to be a winning move. Be honest about it!

My VPIP is at 49.65% Shocked I play pretty loose though. Anywhere from 25%-40% is probably a pretty good range to be in. 6max is really about postflop play though.

Interesting. Im quite loose even laggy at 6 max and pick tables that suite this style. For me im only in pots if im doing the raising or can reraise over the top or see a flop with potential monsters (pps)
But, id like to see you play and raise hands like JTs or 78s for the simple reason that you may buy a few more pots in 6max considering how few hands are out there.
My stats are about 25-30 flops seen but a large percentage of these nearly 40% are opening for raises. If i play at 6 max i open up with raises every time simply to build pots which i can semi bluff most of the time. Only after i have to show down something mediocre like suited connectors do i then tighten up. Until that point ill let opps think im hitting a wild run of great cards.
