I've got KK.. What are the chances he has AA? better then I was expecting.
My entire night went like this...

Straights to backdoor flushes..
flush to a miracle Boat..
two pair to a set (not as bad as the others)

Another night gone broke.. $50 worth of frusteration, the last one was me with a boat, and someone with the bigger end of it. (damn sets)

Post your last session to the private board and I'll offer to take a look.

That being said, how are you bankrolling yourself? Are you covered for at least a $100 swing? Are you letting your stack fall too small to effectivly play your game? Leaving when your stack gets too tall to play your game?

i don't have an online bankroll, so i'm basicly just playing $50 at a time. I believe its causing me to play too tight and fold too easy. I'm having a tough time of it. Because I'm playing so tight now I step in and people just drop to me.

I busted what I had of my RL bankroll last weekend. 4 straight days of losing $80. I think the frustration has gotten to me and I'm just on tilt and not realizing it. I made a few calls this weekend that I know I shouldn't have.

I'm just going to take a few weeks/month off now, save some $$$ do a bit of reading, and start going back to the gym.

Going back to the gym will help me relieve my stress of the last few weeks of crap RL and Poker wise and get back to a normal level of health.

my golf league starts in 2 weeks, that will give me something else to do in the mean time.

Playing with too small of a bankroll is a bad idea. As I've said before, $250 is the minimum I would consider playing with for $25 NL and even then I've had swings that would have busted that out.

Well I enjoy playing poker, regarless of how its going. I've been playing the SNG tournies and making the money about %55 of the time. If it holds up like this I'll move up to larger SNG's after about 200 more.

I have to take a break from no limit cash games, i'm not sure if its just me, or what but I got cracked 3 times last night on PP.. All within 30 minutes.

Once floped the Nut straight from the small blind, 2 guys call my 5 raise, on a $3 pot, then a 15 all in raise on a $20 pot to catch a flush on the river.. ( i didn't have enough $ to put him way off the pot odds) Argh.

I flopped Top pair weak kicker from the BB, I bet it.. 1 caller. I catch second pair on the turn, now i've got two pair, bet again, bet the river and he called me all the way down. He flopped a set.. oops for me. All he had to do was raise it and I would have folded...

And my nut flush gets sank by a boat.. We checked the flop, i caught me flush on the turn, and damned if he didn't bet it. I figured him for the flush and re-raised him. Talk about a mis-read. Was so concerned about my flush didn't pay enough attention to the fact that the flush paired the board.

Ahh shittty night, I only played about 30 hands last night in the ring games, -$75 was enough for now.

After a couple SNG's I sat back down at the NL table.. Ugh mistake mistake mistake. I wasn't tilting because I had just won a SNG, but I think i may have been trying to force a few hands because it was getting late. Lost a few more $ and said hell with it I'm going to bed while I'm still up for the evening.

But on the good side of things, I'm still up $6 for the night because of the SNG's Smile

I agree with you most of the time Fnord, but I would say $125-$150 should be more than enough. I'm now up about $900 total since starting online play, and on my bad days I lose between $30-$100. I have started to realize more and more that some days your luck just isn't there and you have to get away after dropping like $50, especially if you lose it rather quickly to being outdrawn. Like days where you have AK and the flop always misses, or you have KK and the ace keeps hitting on the flop. Some days just go like that and you have to get away for a bit.

Just my 2 cents.

Worst evening in a long time... tonight I lost all-in with AKs (set!), AA (outdrawn), KK (set) and QQ (KK). Flopped 2 pair with Axs, A9o picks up a 9 on the turn. Flopped a flush with 54s in the BB, lost to Kxs. I think the real only all-in I won was ATs vs QQ. I raised to $2, he re-raised to $4.5, I called. Flopped a flush draw, from there it was pretty much all-in figuring I had a coin flip.

-$140
Yay...

yep yep...

I didn't follow my own advice, I've been playing cash games and doing horrible, i think it was still in SNG mode trying to steal pots.

Then went on a cold run of about 8 SNGs not finishing.

Ahh here we go again.

I feel ya mike - I haven't placed in the money in my last 6-7 SNGs. But now my cash game is better. Poker is so f@*ked up, man.

Just a week ago I couldn't win a hand in the cash game. Goes to show that the key when things are bad is to know when to walk away and know when you're tilting to minimize losses when times are bad. This is something I'm sloooooooowly getting better at.

We can't keep the bad times from coming but we can keep the bad times from becoming horrible times with some discipline and control.

Ha! Who do I think I am? Socrates? Laughing
