I never slowplay either Kings or Aces but check out this. Just watch the 3 hands on like blitz speed or something. 1st one turned out ok. But anyway, on the last 2 I didnt really think I'd get any callers but I know slowplaying Aces or Kings is like an unforgivable sin or something lol. Anyway do you ever find yourself in this spot. Will you ever go in like $1.50 or $2 to try to kind of sucker in at least 1 person and then just take your chances if you get multiple callers and no reraisers. I was just curious cause I seem to never even get to play my AA KK 40% of the time or more. Believe it or not I got Rockets on my first hand at this table and then when I got into the small blind next time around I got dealt it again. I got the KK about 30 hands after that. Never gotten monsters that close together before.

$5 pre-flop is a bit much. $3-$4 would have protected you enough from set and been more likely to draw a call.

Otherwise well played. It's always tough when you got a strong position and someone doesn't want to play. But just look at the hand where I slow-played a set of aces and lost to the scrubby straight and remind yourself that you're far better off winning $2 than losing $25.

One trick that works sometimes on a tight table is to limp in with AA or KK from UTG or UTG+1 or 2. Best done if the pre-flop game is a little aggressive, particularly if players like raising to $1 on random hands. Then re-raise for a better chance of a call or a more dead limping money. If you don't get raised, you're out of position with a potential trap hand. If you don't hit your set, play it carefully and be ready to make a laydown. However, I think limping in from UTG with Aces or Kings has better value than just stealing 75c of blinds if you're unlikely to get a call.

The best way to get action for your AA or KK is to have a loose table image. Otherwise, if you only raise big when you have a group 1 hand, no ones going to call you (unless they have AA or KK too). What I like to do is to always raise or fold in late position (no calling) and especially try to steal the blinds from the button if given the chance. If I'm on a tight table, I will even go as far as going all in preflop on the button if there's only one or two limpers. People will get upset and start calling your raises. Great way to double or even triple up as everyone wants to be the one to 'teach' you a lesson when you finally hit your AA. Of course, you're going to have a greater variance with this way of playing than playing tight but so far it's been very profitable for me.

Ok tonight I just went in 3 and got 2 callers and believe it or not flopped trip aces. My question is was I too aggressive after the 5 dollar bet. In contemplating this move now I see it as kind of dumb since I don't think this guy would of gone in 3 bucks with KT. What I was sort of worried about was flush draw but 2 high flush cards were already out so I now don't really know what he had. If he had trips he would of called I think. but I over did it for the flush draw thing but I wasn't really thinking about it at the time. He had shown strength so fast I assummed he would call I guess and I wasn't thinking of getting his money slow. Well how would u guys have played it. Suck it out slow or reraise or like I did?

Thanks

Funny thing is I got this dudes money later but a lot more dangerously. Check this out. Was this incredibly stupid - I was thinking so but I put calling at less than 10% - and Fnord its so funny I was thinking of you when I paid a quarter for this. I folded almost all my small blinds tonight though so u would be proud with my progess. (At least I like to think so) This was suited with Q high so I figured I'd pay the quarter and hope for a high flush with K A in the commnunity. I guess you may be disappointed with this reckless play but how exactly would you of played this after the flop? Thanks

I think he may of called because what happened in the first hand when I actually did have trip aces - he may of thought I just did that bluffin or something to get his 5 bucks. Who knows. But this same guy between those 2 hands did this and I folded but don't know if I should of. Check this out and tell me if I was stupid.

482026586 - Raising to 10 or 15 would have been more callable. But I understand that board was a little scary. Still with a set you have outs against a straight.

482108769 - Qx suited isn't a horrible hand to complete your SB with. I tend to complete with hands that can flop well enough that I can comfortably re-raise, check-raise or fold.

482084187 - AJo is a tough call under the gun. Almost a trap hand but plays ok in an unraised pot. I think your biggest mistake wasn't raising the flop. With so much weakness shown it's hard to get a read on that turn bet.

I agree here, that was a hell of a raise. However he did represent a strong hand with a $5 bet, raising it to 15 would have probably been the better option though.

I was really hoping that the short stack would pick up an Ax hand and decide to push all-in with it and get callers. Of course, somebody having QQ here to call my pre-flop all-in is just icing on the cake.
