Well I'm making this thread to hopefully keep me focused. I'm going to start grinding 400NL full on Full Tilt. Why full you ask? Well I don't think I have the stomach for the 6 max swings and I believe that I can beat full. I have nothing to back this up with other than personal belief. If you have been following my blog then you know that I've had to cash out a signifiant portion of my roll and I'm down to a little over 7k. While many people would consider this slightly underrolled for 400NL, I believe that it's enough for a full ring player who is a winner. I wouldn't consider playing 400NL 6 max with anything less than 10K. Obviously, if I drop 5 buy-ins right away, I'm going to move down but we'll see what happens.

I just got done with my first session. I'm just 4 tabling right now as I get used to the stakes and players there. I'm going out soon so I only got 623 hands in and I ended up +$180.05. I did not win any pots over $125, I just played pretty solid. I was freerolling for a guys stack but missed my flush draw and we chopped. I also had to muck QQ twice preflop which is pretty sick doing it twice in just over 600 hands. But I'm pretty sure both guys had bigger pairs so I'm not sweating it.

First QQ is tighish but understandable. I think this is AK sometimes too and I couldn't really fault seeing a flop in position.

Second one is standard.

Hmm I'm beginning to think this was a bad idea. I had a bad session today where I dropped a buy in and it made me realize how much it's going to hurt if I drop 2 or 3 more. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do now. I'm pretty unfocused poker wise right now and it's frustrating.

Lets play some madden

I think I've decided what I'm going to do. I think my main problem was that when I was rolled for 400NL, I wasn't comfortable playing it so I played 200NL and didn't take it as seriously as I should. Basically, my ego was getting in the way of me playing well. So I've decided to cash out everything except 5k and take this and grind 200NL 6max on Full Tilt. I've used pretty good Bankroll Management so I haven't had any chance of going busto in a while. Now, the possiblility is a lot more real so I think this will focus me. I'm also going to subscribe to cardrunners.com to try and improve my game which right now, I think is good enough to beat 200NL 6max but I definatly need to improve a ton if I ever want to beat 400NL 6max (and I could definatly play better at 200NL, no question).

So today was my first session. I played 1,043 hands and ended up a grand total of $31.25. I'm happy with how I played. I was down $500 at first, then clawed my way back to +$200, then I lost a $661 pot AA vs KK all in PF so I was negative again and then I finished the session up. I had AA 5 times that session and ended up losing $345 with them. That's variance I hope Wink

. The main thing is, is that I feel refreshed and I'm ready to own.

Well I've basically been breaking even the past 2 days. It's frustrating because I only have time for 1k-2k hands per day and I really want to play a lot more.

If you add those to the AA vs KK $661 I could easily be up 1k, but it's not to be. I'm not going to move down to 100NL until I drop below $3500 which is still $1k of losing away but we'll see. gg life

Had a great session today. I feel like I'm really starting to crush 200NL 6 max. Cardrunners is helping a ton too, I highly recommend it, it's definatly worth the investment.

I really only got luck in one pot all session (but I think I made a good shove in it) and Full Tilt tried to bust me twice.

I was just going to say "play 6-max" then I read the rest of the thread

I have only watched about 4 videos by Green Plastic on a friend's PC and they have been really good and worthwhile for me at this stage. Unfortunately my bankroll is only $600 so paying for cardrunners subscription is out of the question (for the moment).

Also 6-max is far more fun. I love attacking on the button with a wide range of hands.

yea it was very very weird. I was down like a grand with three of a kind in a 5k hand sample and my won at showdown was 40% (keeping in mind im a 14/10 nit)
